United weigh up Sesko and Watkins
Manchester United are keen on either Benjamin Sesko or Ollie Watkins as they search for a striker this summer.
Watkins is expected to come cheaper than the RB Leipzig forward, but The Red Devils may have to sell first before any purchase.
The Evening Standard states: "Manchester United have identified Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins as their top targets for a striker signing this summer.
"United remain keen to sign a striker but sales could be required first. Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Antony are among those the club are looking to find buyers for.
"Marcus Rashford’s loan move to Barcelona, who are covering his wages, has helped United’s financial situation but further departures are still required.
"Reports suggest that United believe they could agree a deal for between ÂŁ40m-ÂŁ45m for the 29-year-old, less than the Gunners offered at the start of the year.
"Sesko would be a more expensive option for United than Watkins. Leipzig are likely to demand a fee of around ÂŁ70m to consider a sale."
Red Devils linked with stopper Pope
Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope, who has a year left on his Newcastle contract.
Newcastle are looking to add Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to their squad, which may bump Pope down the pecking order.
The Sun writes: "Manchester United could make a shock transfer move for Nick Pope.
"The goalkeeper has excelled with Newcastle, but Eddie Howe is now reportedly targeting Southampton's Aaron Ramsdale.
"As a result, Pope, 33, who has made ten England appearances, now faces the prospect of being displaced by rival Ramsdale.
"As he is out of contract next summer, he is also likely to prove an affordable option for the Red Devils."
Trossard future unclear at Arsenal
Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard is unwilling to sign a new deal that would keep him at the club until 2027.
Al Ittihad have previously expressed interest in the Belgium international, who has seen competition for his place arrive this summer.
The Mirror reports: "Leandro Trossard is stalling over signing the new contract that is being offered by Arsenal because he wants to keep his options open. Trossard has been continually linked with a move away from north London in the summer transfer window and the situation could come to a head soon.
"The Belgian has been with Arsenal since a move from Brighton in January 2023 and has proven to be a useful utility player for Mikel Arteta. He has contributed 28 goals and 23 assists in 124 appearances across all competitions, but his future is currently up in the air.
"Arsenal have been chasing new signings all summer and have brought in Viktor Gyokeres, Cristhian Mosquera, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard. But they could still sign another wide forward wanted by Arteta – and that is partly why Trossard is reluctant to show his hand yet.
"There had been a feeling that Arsenal would entertain offers for Trossard this summer, having previously received a bid from Al Ittihad at the end of the 2024 summer transfer window. And the 30-year-old won’t put pen to paper on a contract that would improve his wages at Arsenal, but not extend his stay beyond 2027."
Lyon make contact for Morton
Olympique Lyonnais have approached Liverpool about the potential signing of 22-year-old midfielder Tyler Morton.
Morton and Liverpool would prefer a permanent sale, with the club looking to raise funds after a spending spree this summer.
The Athletic reports: "Liverpool have had contact from French club Lyon over a deal for Tyler Morton.
"The 22-year-old would be open to a move to the Ligue 1 club as it would offer him a chance to progress in his career.
"Liverpool and the midfielder, who has attracted interest from other European clubs, would be interested in a permanent move."
