Chelsea put Garnacho up for saleÂ
Chelsea are ready to cash in on winger Garnacho just one year after signing him for ÂŁ40 million from Manchester United.Â
The 22-year-old Argentina international was a notable absentee on Thursday morning when Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro, and other non-World Cup players came back to Cobham for fitness tests under new head coach Xabi Alonso.
While Serie A side Roma are monitoring the winger, Stamford Bridge chiefs have made it clear they are keen on a straight sale rather than a loan deal with conditions attached.
The Daily Mail reports: ”Chelsea are ready to sell Alejandro Garnacho after a single season with the 22-year-old Argentinian not seen since the club's other players returned for pre-season training.Â
”Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and the other non-World Cup call-ups reported back at Cobham on Thursday morning to run through their fitness tests and begin working with new manager Xabi Alonso on the pitch.Â
”Garnacho is not believed to have been involved in those first sessions held with Alonso. Chelsea did not comment when asked why, such as if injury-related or otherwise.Â
”However, other sources have confirmed that the Stamford Bridge side are open to moving on the player they signed for ÂŁ40m from Manchester United last summer – but they have also let it known that they are prioritising a permanent sale to a loan with strings attached.Â
”Serie A club Roma are among those to have already been linked. As of earlier this week, no club-to-club talks had yet opened regarding Garnacho.”
Klopp agrees to become Germany manager until 2030
Klopp has agreed a deal in principle with the German football association to take over the Germany national team job on a contract until 2030.Â
The 59-year-old, who has been working as Red Bull's Global Head of Soccer since January 2025, will succeed Julian Nagelsmann following Germany's penalty shoot-out elimination by Paraguay at the World Cup.Â
The contract will encompass Euro 2028 and the 2030 World Cup, with the final agreement expected next week once Klopp holds talks in the United States with Red Bull managing director Oliver Mintzlaff to formalise his exit.
The Athletic explains: ”Jurgen Klopp has agreed in principle to become the new head coach of the German national team. Klopp, 59, has agreed terms with the German Football Association (DFB) on a contract until 2030, which will run through the 2028 European Championship and the 2030 World Cup.Â
"The former Liverpool head coach, who has been serving as Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer since January 2025, takes over from Julian Nagelsmann, who resigned his position following Germany’s defeat by Paraguay on penalties in the World Cup’s Round-of-32.Â
”The final hurdle to a full agreement is likely to be reached early next week, following meetings in the United States with Oliver Mintzlaff, the managing director of Red Bull, during which Klopp’s departure from the organisation will be agreed.”
Sporting KC design ambitious free-agent plan for Salah
MLS outfit Sporting Kansas City have formulated a package to secure Mohamed Salah on a free transfer following his departure from Liverpool.Â
While the 34-year-old forward has been expected to secure a highly lucrative switch to Saudi Arabia, talks in the Middle East have stalled. This has opened a window for Kansas City, who now lead the MLS chase.Â
The Mirror states: ”MLS side Sporting Kansas City have drawn up an ambitious plan to sign Mo Salah on a free transfer.Â
”Salah, 34, is without a club after leaving Liverpool, having spent nine trophy-laden years at Anfield. Saudi Arabia has long been tipped to be his next destination, but talks over a move to the cash-rich league have reportedly stalled. And now Sporting have emerged as potential suitors.Â
”The Kansas-based outfit are in pole position if Salah decides on a move to Major League Soccer, where multiple clubs have expressed their interest."Â
Kroupi favours Spurs move over PSG
Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi has signalled his desire to join Tottenham Hotspur over French giants Paris Saint-Germain.Â
Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi views the young attacker as a high-priority acquisition to spearhead his ongoing offensive overhaul.
The club have crossed the ÂŁ230m spending mark this summer, and remain linked to AC Milan's Rafael Leao and Manchester City's Savinho, while their interest in goalkeeper James Trafford has officially been dropped following Antonin Kinsky's contract extension.
Standard Sport reports: ”Eli Junior Kroupi wants to join Tottenham. Tottenham now believe they are in a stronger position to land Kroupi, who is viewed as a priority target by Roberto De Zerbi as the club continues reshaping its attacking options this summer.Â
"Spurs have already spent more than ÂŁ230m this summer, with six new faces through the door and their transfer record broken twice.Â
”Standard Sport understands that Manchester City’s Savinho is again a target, after last summer’s failed pursuit, with both Junior Kroupi and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao also heavily linked.
”Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo is reportedly also of interest to De Zerbi, but Standard Sport understands that interest in James Trafford will not be pursued following Antonin Kinsky’s new contract.”
