Barcelona 4-0 OL Lyonnes result – Ewa Pajor and Salma Paralluelo net second half braces to clinch UEFA Women’s Champions League

A second-half double from striker Ewa Pajor sent Barcelona towards a 4-0 win against OL Lyonnes in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final.

Lyon have won the tournament a record eight times but were left humiliated after Salma Paralluelo scored a late brace to compound their misery.

Arguably the two best sides in women’s football went head-to-head in Oslo with bragging rights on the line.

American midfielder Lindsey Heaps looked to have given Lyon a 14th minute lead when she reacted quickest to a rebound, only for VAR to rule the effort out for an earlier off-side.

Pajor eventually took the plaudits but missed a glorious first half chance, when she fired over following miscommunication in the Lyon defence.

Barca goalkeeper Cata Coll was forced into some key first half saves, with the biggest to deny Selma Bacha’s free-kick.

Leading competition scorer Pajor found the opening goal five minutes into the second half after ruthlessly shooting across the goalkeeper.

Coll made another key save on the hour mark to again deny Bacha, when her low shot looked bound for the bottom corner.

That save was more important when Pajor was perfectly placed inside the box to finish a passing move to double her side’s lead.

Then, in the final minute of normal time, Paralluelo scored the goal of the game with a strike from outside the box which flew into the top corner.

Barcelona added another blow to Lyon late on, hitting their opponents on the break in injury-time and Pajor turned provider for Paralluelo to make it 4-0.

Barcelona have now won a fourth UEFA Women’s Champions League in six seasons and are becoming the biggest force in women’s football.

After missing two first half chances the Polish striker settled the tie in the second half. Her first strike was clinical and then was perfectly placed for her second.

Lyon almost find a way back into the game as Chawinga beats the off-side trap. However, Coll is quickly out and makes herself big to save.

Moments earlier Dumornay was booked for Lyon after elbowing her opponent.
