Jorge Martin taken to hospital after yet another crash during MotoGP test in Catalunya

Jorge Martin has been cleared of any fractures after being taken to hospital for tests following another crash at the Catalunya MotoGP test on Monday afternoon.

The Aprilia rider went down at turn seven as he continued his bruising time in Barcelona, having had five crashes during the Grand Prix weekend.
The 2024 world champion was seen at the circuit’s medical centre on Monday before being taken to a local hospital but was found to have sustained no fractures.
An initial statement from Aprilia read: ”Following the crash at Turn 7, Jorge Martin was taken to the circuit's medical centre for checks, primarily to his left elbow and right leg.
”Examinations performed at the circuit's medical centre revealed no visible fractures but it was decided to take Martin to the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona for further tests.”
A later update said: ”Following the tests that Jorge Martin underwent at the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona, no fractures were found."

Monday's test was red-flagged for a period as Martin was attended to on-site before he was taken to the medical centre.
The Spaniard crashed twice during practice on Friday and again in Saturday’s qualifying, Sprint race and Sunday’s Grand Prix.
The 28-year-old crashed out of sixth position during the Sprint before colliding with Raul Fernandez at turn 10 of Sunday’s race as he pushed for a podium position.
His incident-packed weekend meant he failed to capitalise on the struggles of team-mate Marco Bezzecchi and Marc Marquez’s absence following shoulder surgery.
Martin remains second in the standings, 15 points adrift of championship leader Bezzechi.

Martin was the third rider to go to hospital during the event in Catalunya, following serious incidents for Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco in Sunday's race.
It was confirmed that Alex Marquez would undergo surgery after colliding with Pedro Acosta and being thrown from his bike into the gravel.
His BK8 Gresini team said in a statement: "Alex Marquez physical conditions update: Marginal fracture of C7; further evaluation will be completed next week.
"Right clavicle fracture; it will be stabilised with a plate. He will undergo surgery today by the team at Hospital General de Catalunya."
Fabio Di Giannantonio came out on top on Sunday, winning his first MotoGP race since 2023 and extending his lead as the best-performing Ducati rider of the season.
