Marc Marquez looks ahead to Grand Prix Czechia after milestone MotoGP win - 'I'll be stuck on 100!'

Marc Marquez is ready to add to his 100 MotoGP race wins ahead of Grand Prix Czechia. Two weekends ago, the Ducati Lenovo rider claimed his first win of the season as he secured a double victory at Balaton Park during Grand Prix Hungary.

It gained him 25 points and moved him 72 points behind Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi, who stands top of the table on 180 points as he has impressed in pursuit of his first world title in the class.
While he is some way from challenging for the title this season, TNT Sports pundit Neil Hodgson predicted another double win at Brno would give him the chance to fight for the 2026 title after months of struggle suggested he stood little chance of success.
With 100 MotoGP titles to his name, Marquez told TNT Sports that he was keen to add to his total so far, but he was focused on enjoying the sport after years of pressure, setbacks, and hard work.
He explained: ”It means a lot. I have numbers I never even imagined. It was impossible to imagine I would be around those numbers and around those names. So I’m super happy.
”As I said last year, when I achieved the championship, I'm happy to just keep the same mentality and to try to fight for the championships.

"Now I'm in a moment where I want to enjoy the sport too. I put a lot of pressure on myself all the years I had many injuries and now I'm in the moment where I want to enjoy MotoGP. Of course, I want to give 100% in my time.
”I knew that sooner or later I had the bike to do it. If you have the bike in a season, you will have a chance. Now 100, I'll be stuck on 100! I don't think so, but maybe. You never know.
”We are in a sport where last year in Misano, I would be in this situation nine months after, and I would say you are crazy. But I already learned in 2020 that that lie can change from one day to the next.”
The track at Czechia is expected to favour the Aprilias once more, as Bezzecchi races alongside his team-mate Jorge Martin, who sits in second spot in the title, trailing the Italian by 20 points.

Hungary suited Marquez’s particular talents as it was an anti-clockwise set-up, but Brno’s layout runs clockwise, meaning there are fewer left-handers for Marquez to exploit.
The 33-year-old Spaniard said he was looking to stay competitive behind whoever emerges as the winner this weekend, but he was aiming to get to the summer break to then build up to his fitness to get back to his best.
He added: ”Realistic is... less than 10 seconds behind the leader. This is the target, step by step. We have the summer break and that's when I believe and hope I will have the physical condition.
”The bike can do it, but still I can’t ride in the best way possible.”
