Marc Marquez has said people who boo him "are not real fans of MotoGP" following his victory at Grand Prix Italy.
The Ducati rider extended his lead at the top of the riders’ standings at the Mugello circuit on Sunday, having secured his 100th pole position earlier in the weekend.Â
But despite representing the Italian team, Marquez was on the receiving end of boos from the home crowd following his victory in Saturday’s Sprint race, with Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi having to plead with fans to support the rider.Â
Following Sunday’s race, the six-time MotoGP champion said there is "no sense" behind the negative reception he was given.Â
The 32-year-old told TNT Sports: "It was the best year in Mugello, honestly speaking. Because since yesterday, I feel good. I want to thank Davide [Tardozzi] because yesterday he supported me a lot on that podium.
"This is sport and we respect all the decisions, but in the end, if you are a real fan of motorbike, you can support your rider and cheer for Pecco [Bagnaia] and sing Pecco, and this is nice, I like it, because he is the local hero.
"But those people booing me, booing Alex [Marquez, brother], because his surname is Marquez, booing the Spanish flag because I'm Spanish, that is no sense. They are not real fans of MotoGP."

It had been a close tussle between Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia in the opening laps of the race, with the Spaniard’s brother Alex Marquez also in the mix.Â
The Marquez brothers were able to pull away from the Italian before Marc took the lead on Lap 9 and pushed on for a fifth Grand Prix win of the year.
Alex took second, just ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio, who had passed Bagnaia in the closing stages to secure a podium finish on home turf.Â

Marquez’s victory, along with his Sprint win, meant he took a maximum 37 points from the weekend, extending his championship lead over his brother to 40 points.Â
The Spaniard said it was "special" to win in Italy on an Italian bike, and with an Italian team that he is starting to "feel part of".Â
Discussing his "unexpected" victory for Ducati, Marquez said: "A super-important day, special day.
"In the first races I was still knowing the team, feeling the atmosphere inside the Ducati official garage, but now I feel part of the team, I’m enjoying a lot with the team.
"It makes it even more special that victory, winner with a Ducati bike, Ducati team, here at Mugello, my 93rd victory.
"Really happy and unexpected victory because historically, Pecco and Alex, they were super fast, but I was able to win the race."
He later added: "A very special day to win with an Italian team on an Italian bike in an Italian city."
