Winter Olympics: Team GB record medal haul 'well within grasp' at Milano Cortina with as many as TEN predicted by TNT Sports pundit Charlie Guest

Team GB achieving a record Winter Olympic medal haul is "well within grasp" at the Milano Cortina Games according to TNT Sports pundit Charlie Guest. The two-time Olympian rattled through as many as 10 medal hopes for the games on the daily morning show Buongiorno Milano, before fellow pundit Scott Dixon added further names into the hat, suggesting this could be a games to remember for Team GB.

Team GB breaking their Winter Olympics haul is "well within grasp" at the Milano Cortina Games according to former Olympian Charlie Guest.
The current record, achieved at both in 2014 in Sochi and four years later in PyeongChang, saw Team GB win five medals.
On each occasion, there was just the one gold medal - both won by skeleton star Lizzy Yarnold - with a silver and three bronzes in Sochi and four bronzes in PyeongChang.
This Games though, shared between iconic city Milan, where the glorious opening ceremony took place on Friday, and Cortina, the delightful snow paradise in northern Italy, there is hope Team GB can go even further.
Form suggests there has to be success - Mia Brookes, Zoe Atkin and Kirsty Muir all won gold at the X Games last month, while the curling stars will be hoping to use their two medals won in Beijing four years ago as a springboard.
There is also deserved optimism in men’s skeleton, after Matt Weston and Marcus Wyatt made history when sliding to all seven World Cup titles between them, while figure skating duo Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson are considered the modern day Torvill and Dean.
Once you add in the likes of Charlotte Bankes in snowboard cross and the men’s bobsleigh team led by Brad Hall, it is starting to seem impossible to think that record of five medals won’t be eclipsed.
They say it is the hope that kills you, but Guest, speaking on the daily morning show Buongiorno Milano on TNT Sports and discovery+, is particularly bullish.

She said: "It’s huge, it is absolutely phenomenal and what the athletes have been doing in the run-up to these Games this season alone is just on levels that we have never seen before.
"Speaking from a snowsport perspective, we’ve got three X Games gold medallists, we’ve got Mia Brookes who was too young to go to the last games, she’s finally here.

"Kirsty Muir has overcome massive injury struggles - wins an X Games gold, winning World Cups and now she is here and she is ready and she is so confident.
"Then across the board, ice sports, snowboard cross, the whole lot, it is lining up and it just feels like, I don’t want to jinx anyone but the stars are really aligning for Team GB.
"I think it is well within grasp [medal haul].
"I am just running through the tally myself, we have got the three girls with X Games gold, you have then got Charlotte Bankes, you have then got two Skeleton guys, you have got Brad Hall in the men’s, you’ve got the curling, you’ve got Lilah and Lewis."
Former biathlete Scott Dixon is also excited about what these games could bring for Team GB and threw another name into the mix.

"It is absolutely phenomenal and that is it. These sports where you can be young, you can get such amazing results, it does not require, like in Biathlon and cross country, years of capacity, it is just skill and that fearlessness," he added.
"It is going to be so exciting to see how they can use that build up and hopefully get some really good results, but I don’t want to say too much pressure for medals.
"Of course, it is what we are focusing on but it is a lot of pressure for them.
"Andrew Musgrave, cross country, that is one of the ones that I am like, 'Come on, he can do it'.
"He has been so close before in the World Championships - fourth place, he has got the experience.
"This is his fifth Games, so he is somebody I am looking out for as a potential outsider not on that tally who could do something special."
