Marlie Packer said her final week with Saracens had been "amazing" after they beat Trailfinders 52-14 to win the Premiership Women's Rugby title. The former England captain is joining Harlequins next season.

Packer has been with Sarries for nine years, during which time they have won four league titles.

Speaking to TNT Sports on the pitch after the match, Packer said: "It's been amazing. The whole week's been amazing.

"Until you leave somewhere, you don't know how much you're loved. Not just the players, the background staff, it's everything. It's made me feel loved.

"It's not been about me this week, but quietly, subtly, the whisper in the ear, 'We're going to miss you, you mean so much to us.' I haven't really thought about it too much, I am really excited about my next chapter. It has been a whirlwind week."

Reflecting on a fourth title for Saracens and a comfortable win in the final, Packer said: "It's like you've got a job to do, everything for us was about winning today. We've made training about coming here and getting the job done.

"At the end of the game I had a moment to myself and all the girls came round me and that was just, to bottle up the moment, that was it. Nine years with Saracens, four times champions, brilliant.

"They're all really special in their own right. They're all ranked to the best because you do it with different people, you make different connections.

"We didn't underestimate what Trailfinders were going to come here and do. At the end of the day, finals don't come round often.

"I think every Saracens player has been in a final over the season, whether it's been a World Cup final, a cup final, or this final.

"We know how to win them. We just needed to back ourselves to win it."

Omokhuale gives full marks to Sarries

Player of the match Julia Omokhuale gave the Saracens performance "10 out of 10" as she helped the north London team to glory.

Speaking to TNT Sports moments after the final whistle, Omokhuale said: "It's an amazing feeling. The girls are incredible. This wouldn't have been possible without the whole team. We've worked hard all season.

"Not just the 23 who were on the field today, everyone who showed up at practice each and every day has made this possible, and I love this group of girls.

"We've put in the work throughout the season, we've learned from each and every game and it's allowed us to put this performance together.

"I'll give it 10 out of 10. It wasn't perfect but we did what we had to do and we made it happen."

Omokhuale was also asked about being one of a number of Canadian stars playing in England.

"The Canadian girls, it's been amazing playing with them and being able to put that Canadian influence into the Saracens team," Omokhuale added.

"And not just the Saracens team, all across the PWR the Canadians are sprinkling that bit of influence, that little bit of sparkle, just having fun while playing rugby.

"I've loved every second of it. All the blood, sweat and tears, it's all made it worth it. I couldn't have asked for anything else."
