Domen Prevc celebrates Four Hills Tournament triumph with dramatic final jump - 'Even more spectacular than I thought'

Slovenia's Domenc Prevc had to wait until the final jump of the Four Hills Tournament to win the title. The 26-year-old triumphed on Tuesday evening, despite Daniel Tschofenig taking the win in Bischofshofen. Prevc's second-place finish was enough for his overall victory, and speaking to TNT Sports afterwards, he said he took it as signs he was going in the right direction for the future.

Domen Prevc of Slovenia celebrated his 2025/26 Four Hills Tournament title on Tuesday evening, saying it was "even more spectacular than I thought".
There was drama throughout the day as the leadership changed hands throughout the last jump of the competition, and Austria’s Daniel Tschofenig took the win in Bischofshofen with 303.9 points.
Prevc was the last man to jump, and secured second spot, 4.1 points behind the Austrian. Japanese competitor Ryoyu Kobayashi was third in the last podium spot, 4.3 points back.
The result was enough to earn Prevc the overall title and the Golden Eagle as he emerged the most consistent performer throughout the tour, having won the opener in Oberstdorf and the second outing in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the final results, the 26-year-old Slovenian was asked what was going through his mind before the last jump.
He explained: "Of course, the last jump was super tough for me, actually. I had a lot of pressure, even during the run. I even felt like this is going for real now, and I was like, 'Just don't screw it up.'

"Keep it safe, just go with the flow and the final result was even more spectacular than I thought."
Prevc added that before the final jump, he was able to take in the moments before his overall victory, but he focused until the very last moment to avoid any calamities.
"The moment I realised that I felt like I just needed to enjoy this moment was just before the last jump," he added. "I know how hard it can be and how many things can go wrong. I just wanted to focus on all the things and keep it going until the end."
After scoring another win in his career, the two-time world champion said that he took his success as an indication that he was on the right track to secure more titles in the future, with the Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, live on TNT Sports and discovery+, just weeks away.
He concluded: "It means everything. It's big confirmation that my work is in the right direction and I just need to keep it consistent and keep it going."

'I just want him to enjoy this moment' - Prevc praises brother's Four Hills victory

Peter Prevc, the winner's older brother and 2022 Winter Olympic gold medallist, said that he was nervous for his sibling right until his win was confirmed.
He said: "Now for me, I can say my final relief. It was intense even until the end, even though Domen had such a good advantage before the last jump, but ski jumping is never over until it's over.
"Now I just want him to enjoy this moment in those minutes. I'm really proud of him, and he can be really proud of himself."
Asked what the title meant in the context of Slovenia’s performance in winter sports, the 2016 Four Hills champion replied: "Every Four Hill title is important for each nation. I think it's the same everywhere in the world.
"I was confident but at the same time I was a bit nervous."
Looking ahead to the rest of the season’s competition, he said: "It's professional sport. You don't have time to celebrate. You have to work."
