Meanwhile, reigning champion Mark Allen faces a tough test against Wuhan Open finalist Si Jiahui. Neil Robertson, who returned to the format for the first time since 2011, faces Jackson Page.

Bai Yulu will look to continue her strong recent run against Zhang Anda in the second round of the 2024 Snooker Shoot Out in Leicester on Friday, live on Eurosport and discovery+.

The women's world champion dramatically dispatched Jamie Clarke in the opening round on Thursday, as she continues to make waves in the game after narrowly missing out on qualification for the UK Championship.

Zhang will prove a stern test, having emphatically downed Hatem Yassin by a scoreline of 101-0 in the opening round, following a strong showing in York last week with victories over Stuart Bingham and Lei Peifan before crashing out to eventual winner Judd Trump.

Elsewhere in the second round, reigning champion Mark Allen faces a tricky encounter against Si Jiahui.

Allen eased past Ross Muir 68-0, as he looks to put some frustrating form behind him and build on his run to the UK Championship semi-finals last week.

Si remains inside the top 16 but has struggled of late, crashing out of the UK Championship and Northern Ireland Open at the first hurdle, while also suffering defeat to Jack Lisowski in the second round of the International Championship.

But the world No. 14 does possess undoubted quality, which was firmly on display during his run to the Wuhan Open final, when he rattled off a spectacular 147 to see off Trump.

Neil Robertson returned to the fast-paced format for the first time since 2011 to dismiss Simon Blackwell by a 73-14 scoreline.

And the Australian has teed up a second-round clash with Welshman Jackson Page.

Elsewhere, Shaun Murphy will do battle with David Gilbert after 'The Magician' saw off Sean O'Sullivan in the first round.
