Andrew Higginson lost 9-8 to Neil Robertson in the final of the 2007 Welsh Open, but the Widnes potter is still going strong 19 years later after reclaiming his spot among the elite in Leicester on Sunday.

Breaks of 61 and 89 helped the former world No. 18, who lost his place on the main circuit in 2024, earn a new two-year tour card with a 4-1 win over Mark Joyce in the finals of event two at Q School.
Higginson, 48, had drubbed Mark Davis 4-0 in the fifth round in Leicester on Saturday to book his final spot against former Crucible qualifier Joyce.
There was also a 4-1 win for Stuart Carrington against Yaron Bodor as he returned after a two-year absence, with Mitchell Mann completing a 4-2 victory over Allan Taylor to secure his spot back on tour next term.
The final spot from event two was picked up by 19-year-old Gong Chenzhi, who completed a 4-2 win over French potter Brian Ochoiski.
Gong ended 'The Milkman' Robert Milkins' hopes of a rapid return to the main circuit via Q School with a 4-3 win on Saturday against the former Welsh Open winner.

Four tour cards were finalised from event one at the city's Mattioli Arena on Monday with Sean O'Sullivan, Liam Davies, Phil O'Kane and Hong Kong's Cheung Ka Wai all successful.
Elsewhere, Huang Jiahao enjoyed a 4-2 win over Liang Xiaolong at event two of Asia Oceania Q School in Bangkok, with Liu Yang registering a 4-2 victory over Chen Ruifu to claim his spot among the elite.
Thai player Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon and Deng Haohui were both successful in event one.
The first action of the new 2026/27 season begins with qualifying for the China Open between June 10-14 in Leicester, with the main ranking event held in Taiyuan between August 8-16.
