Aaron Hill said that it was not long ago he was "dreaming" of playing in venues like the Tempodrom after he beat Mark Williams to reach the last 32 of the German Masters.
The 22-year-old Irishman secured the biggest win of his career to overcome the three-time world champion 5-2 on Tuesday, helped by a magnificent 115 break in the decisive frame.
It is the first time Hill has reached the last 32 of a full format ranking event this season and afterwards, he took time to soak up a moment he had been waiting for.
"I'm delighted, especially the way I finished off in one visit," he said. "It is great to beat someone like Mark Williams.
"It was only a couple of years ago I was dreaming of playing in venues like this.
"It was always a goal of mine to qualify for this event, because it is such a unique venue with good crowds.
"They gave me great support there and it was a great feeling."
After falling two frames behind, Williams hit back with breaks of 65 and 66, but a resurgent Hill would take control from there to overcome his Welsh counterpart for the first time.
Defeat for the world No. 6 resulted in another disappointing tournament, having also fallen at the first hurdle against Ding Junhui at the Masters earlier in January.
Elsewhere at the Tempodrom in Berlin, four-time world champion Mark Selby reeled off three clinical frames to beat Liu Hongyu 5-2, while Luca Brecel also moved into the next round with victory by the same scoreline against Jiang Jun.

Mark Allen sealed a whitewash win against David Lilley which included breaks of 74 and 71, while Jack Lisowski surrendered a 3-2 lead and a break of 121 in a crushing defeat to world No. 88 Alexander Ursenbacher.
Gary Wilson also crashed out following an edgy 5-4 loss to Daniel Wells, while Wu Yize, Xiao Guodong, Anthony McGill, Elliot Slessor, Si Jiahui, Rickey Walden and Jimmy Robertson all progressed.
