World Snooker Championship 2026 live comments and streaming details. Higgins progresses with thrilling defeat of Robertson
Four-time winner John Higgins has seen and done it all before at the Crucible, and he used all his experience to reach the semi-finals of the World Championship with a 13-10 victory over Neil Robertson.
Trailing 9-7 after the first two sessions, the Scot had it all to do to reach the last four for a 12th time, but he showed great grit and determination to progress, despite not finding his best form.
The evening started well for 'the Wizard of Wishaw', as he levelled at 9-9 with back-to-back breaks of 50+ in the opening two frames of the night.
Robertson hit back, edging his nose back in front with an excellent visit of 73.
But from then on, Higgins locked things down. He would reel off four frames in a row to win, manoeuvring his way around the table with some granite-like safety play and clinical potting.
He was particularly brilliant with the rest, with which he had a 100% success rate for the session, with one stunning pot on the yellow helping him into a 12-10 lead after a gruelling frame that lasted nearly an hour.
That paved the way to take the next, with Robertson up against it after Higgins' break of 53 and the Scot moving through to face Shaun Murphy for a place in the final.

Higgins' safety isn't good though. He puts the green safe, but leaves a pot on the a red. Not an easy one, mind, but Robertson strokes it into the right corner.
A kiss on the blue with the cue ball isn't ideal, but he still has a shot on the black, which he converts.
A red follows, with a pink, but he has no control on the cue ball, which goes up by the yellow.
An attempted pot to the right corner misses and the break is over.

Robertson plays a safety that sends the cue ball up the table. It looks near perfect. But near perfect isn't good enough against John Higgins.
He spots a small gap between pink and green, through which he can squeeze the white and pot a long red into the left corner.
It's only one point. But it's potentially a point closer to the winning line.

As it turns out, Robertson has not played his last shot. Higgins misses a fairly regulation red to the left corner, catching the left jaw.
He returns to his chair with a pensieve look on his face. Robertson has a reprieve.

Another pause after some movement in the crowd. Higgins takes time to compose himself, and then slams a brilliant red home.
He's truly locked in now. Robertson is disconsolate in his chair. He might have played his last shot.
A pink with the rest takes the Scot to a 47-point lead. He has a 100% pot success rate with the rest in this session.

Higgins pots the pink off his second red, and is then able to take the black, which ends up below its own spot.
That means it does not look like it pots at the moment.
There is now a brief pause after a mobile goes off, much to the irritation of Higgins, the referee and the commentators.
But the Scot is unbothered when he settles back down to work, adding the pink and holding position around the reds.
He is in a very good position now.

This is the first time Higgins has been two frames up in this match, and he's got an early chance in frame 23.
A stinking safety from Robertson sees him catch the reds to thickly. They spread, and the cue ball stays south of the blue spot.
The first pot is a red to the left corner. A blue follows, and now he has position around the pack, which are in a decent position.
The only issue is the black is off its spot, which also does not appear to be available, and the pink only goes to the left corner.

In playing that yellow, Higgins held for the green. He needs to clean up all the colours for a 12-10 lead.
Brown and pink are both off their spots, but it's pretty much a formality from here, and the Scot does indeed take the frame by a point.
What a frame to pinch. It lasted nearly an hour!

Soon afterwards, Robertson has a chance to put the frame to bed with a cut back on the red to the right middle, but it catches the knuckle.
There's now time for another safety battle before the Aussie makes a mistake, sending the red off the cushion and up the table to hang over the green pocket.
Higgins converts, blue follows, but the positional shot is tough, as the yellow is on the right side cushion.
The cue ball is left near level with the blue. The rest is needed. The pot is down the cushion. In it goes. That's a superb shot under big pressure.

Another red goes down, along with a black, off which he tries to disturb the remaining red on the top cushion.
The contact is now more than a brush, though. End of break, but how will the table look when Higgins returns?
The answer is not too nice. It could be worse. The red goes up towards the green pocket, with the cue ball behind the black. It's a snooker, but an easy enough escape.
Robertson leads by 32, with 35 remaining

Higgins' next safety sends a red towards the left corner though, and Robertson superbly strokes it home from distance, while also holding for the black.
The three remaining reds are now all pottable after being disturbed, and Robertson should be able to take the frame from here.
The first is taken with a black.

This frame has been a real slugfest, surpassing 40 minutes, and there's still a long way to go. Five reds remain, but they are all on the top cushion.
Higgins goes in off, but because of the position of those reds, there is very little damage.
Unless, of course, you can pick out an absolutely outrageous trick shot by firing one against the top cushion, then in off the yellow which is near the right corner.
And that's exactly what Robertson does. Hailed by the commentators as the "shot of the tournament."
The black is added, but that'll be it, as he does not have the angle to go into the remaining reds.

World Championship LIVE - Higgins 11-10 Robertson (26-22)
Six red are left on the table. After another brief safety battle, Robertson is left with one to pot following a mistake by Higgins, who caught the yellow en route back up to baulk.
The problem for the Thunder is he is the wrong side of the pink to get into the cluster of five to the right of the black spot.
He attempts to swing the cue ball back and across the table, but narrowly misses them and hangs his head in frustration at not managing to find one to pot.

Robertson thinks there's a red sticking out for a pot to the left corner, but he has to swerve around the pink and he misses by a fair margin.
The cue ball comes to the left of the table, but there's a pot to the right middle.
Higgins takes it, and then a very delicate cut on that pink into the left middle.
An even better shot is to follow, though, as the white ends up tight on the top cushion, but he still cuts another red into the middle pocket..
The green, still over the pocket, is hammered home, with the cue ball then catching the knuckle of the middle as it screws back up the table.
End of break. This has been a long and bitty frame, but Higgins is edging his way through it.

Higgins isn't left anything easy, but he does find a red to the left corner.
He's left shaking his head though, as the cue ball cannons into another red and sticks around at the top end of the table.
He hasn't got a pot on a colour here, and has to try and find a way of covering all others on the table.
The result is a safety off the yellow, putting the white near the yellow pocket.

Robertson really is not having the run of the balls at the moment. He pots a terrific long red into the right corner, but cannot find any position with the cue ball, which comes back up the table.
Second prize is not bad though - he sticks it right in behind the green, which is right over the corner pocket.
Higgins has a cluster of eight reds to aim for near the pink spot, but he does not want to leave anything, so is trying to catch the one at the bottom.
A miss with the first attempt, and a hit with the second, but he leaves one on!
Robertson attempts the pot into the left corner and plays with pace, which spreads that cluster, but misses!

We have another safety battle before Higgins spots a red that he can cut into the left corner.
It's not an easy shot, and those high value colours are still out of position, but he pots, and adds the brown.
With his next red, he uses the rest and swings across to be behind the black on the right cushion.
There's a beautiful angle on it, and he hammers home, playing for a red into the right middle.
However, he rattles the jaws with it and is now back in his chair. This frame has become tense.

Blue, pink and black are all off their spots by a considerable distance, so although Robertson can take an easy red to start, he has to follow it with the yellow.
There's only one other red that's come away from the pack, and he pots that into the left corner, but the positional play is poor. The idea was to hold for the black, but the cue ball probably runs two feet further than he wanted it to, if not more.
The get out is another yellow, off which he holds for a red that is near the baulk cushion.
He tries to hammer that one into the yellow pocket, but misses. Thankfully, from Robertson's point of view, it comes up the table to safety.

A slice of fortune comes Higgins' way now, as a safety shot into the pack sees a red head into the middle pocket.
However, he then completely and utterly miscues a pot on the black, which probably misses the right corner by a foot and a half.
Now, can Robertson take advantage?

There's another safety battle, but Robertson just cannot hold Higgins down.
Eventually, the Scot sinks the final red and his opponent concedes the frame.
Two to go for victory for the Wizard of Wishaw.

Robertson pots one of the remaining reds with a black, then lays up a couple of snookers for Higgins, who escapes first time on each occasion.

The Wizard of Wishaw has to get a real stretch on for his next red, but he can pot it to the left corner without needing the rest.
Another pink follows, then a tricky enough red cut back into the left corner.
38 ahead now. The pink stretches that lead to 44, with three reds left on the table.
The next one is frame ball. Again, not the nicest angle on one near the top cushion, but Higgins cuts it in, then strokes a long black into the middle of the pocket.
Barring three snookers, he's ahead for the first time since the first frame. A fantastic visit of 41.

Higgins takes one of those reds, and although his positional play off it isn't great, a brown follows.
Another red, then the pink, but again he has not got quite the control of the cue ball that he usually has.
The white is now tight on the top cushion, and he is angling a red a long it into the right corner. In it goes though, superbly done, plus another pink.

The longest safety battle we've had in some time ends in Higgins missing a long red to the left corner.
A couple of them cannon up the table, but perhaps most damagingly, the cue ball sticks up at the top end.
Robertson, though, not for the first time this evening, ends up going in off, with the white finding the green pocket after potting a red!
Worse, still, those reds up the table are handily placed for Higgins, who has ball in hand.

The opening red for Robertson is straightforward. What is not so clear is the colour that follows, as the black is up the table and the pink is near the left corner, but close to the cushion.
It's the latter that he takes, screwing back for a red, but he underhits the white.
That means having to run-through the pack, with one of the loose balls knocking the blue up the table.
A tough pink to the left corner is his choice of shot, and it goes into the middle of thet pocket, only for the cue ball to stick on a red!
Break over, marginally helped by a touching ball.

A red into the middle is cleared up, followed by the pink, which now goes on the black spot.
The reds are split handily. It's just about finding ideal position on them.
He gets there after taking one with the rest, followed by the blue.
It's now a case of picking them off, but he misses a simple pink! Break over, and a big puff of the cheeks.

A tight start to frame 21, although there is an error from Robertson, who tries to pot a red to the left corner and goes in off.
Fortunately, he does not leave anything that Higgins is willing to attempt to pot.
Instead, the Scot responds with a good safety, off which Robertson gets another huge slice of luck when he kisses the red far too thinly, only for the cue ball to run next to the left middle, tight against the cushion.
Higgins pull off a magnificent pot though. With barely any room to manoeuvre the white, he sends a brilliant red into the right corner and holds for the yellow.

Wize won that frame just in time for the dividing wall to come up ahead of the return to the table of Higgins and Robertson.
Locked at 10-10, we've basically got a best-of-five frame match now to see who progresses, and it should be mouthwatering.

Yize wins! And he performed a quite remarkable comeback in that 21st frame too, as Vafaei put up a break of 70, but loses by one point!
A terrific 55 claims Yize the victory. He's through to face Mark Allen in the semi-finals!

The green comes back up, and with cue ball in hand, Higgins pots it into the right middle.
The brown, then a gimme of a blue follow, before a deft pink, clipped into the right middle.
That ensures we are all square going into the mid-session interview, with Higgins taking three of the four frames tonight!

Higgins plays a safety shot, to which Robertson responds, but his effort leaves the Scot with a pot on the yellow.
He sinks it, only to be left with a very difficult green to the right middle after an unhelpful kiss off the top cushion.
The Wizard attempts it, but cathces the knuckle, and it bounces back into play for Robertson to pot.
But it will not be long before Higgins returns to the table, courtesy of a huge slice of luck.
His opponents pots the green, but the cue ball hits the black and goes in off!

Robertson gets an outrageous piece of luck off his safety shot, as the red he hits comes back across the table, hits the yellow and goes in!
He then takes the blue to come across the red that Higgins rejected a couple of shots ago.
His position is better, higher on it than his opponent was, but he can't use his left-handed advantage, instead requiring the rest.
A beauty of a pot goes into the middle of the pocket though.
Now for a colour, off which he needs to develop the yellow, which has moved onto the left cushion, just above the baulk line.
He takes the blue and swings the cue ball off the top cushion, but misses the pot and the cannon!

Higgins screws back off the blue for the one that is on the baulk line, perhaps two inches from the cushion. He does not fancy the pot though, so plays safe, putting the cue ball behind the pink, which is on the black spot.

Well; he is at the business end of the table, but after those two superb pots, misses - almost inexplicably - a black off its spot, developing the pink in the process! A double-whammy.
Higgins immediately makes him pay with a red and pink to stretch his lead to ten points with three reds remaining.
One of those goes into the right corner, followed by the blue. Now for the tough pair that are on the right hand side of the table.

Eventually, after around three minutes, the Australian decides to push one of those two loose reds up beyond the baulk line, leaving the white close to the blue.
Higgins responds with a decent safety of his own, this time putting the cue ball at the baulk end of the table.
But Robertson is undeterred, playing a superb clipped red from long range into the right corner, and then a brown into the middle.
Magnificent potting, and the latter of those shots gets him position at the business end of the table.

Back to John Higgins, who is left screwing his face up and shaking his head after a really poor positional shot off the blue, which leaves the cue ball a good couple of feet away from where he wanted it.
There's no pot on, so he has to play safe. You can see his frustrated, as that was a chance to win the frame in the visit.
Instead, he's put Robertson in significant trouble, with the cue ball on the top cushion and six reds left on the table.
Four or below the pink spot, and he cannot really catch any of them, then there is one up the tabl eand another in between pink and blue.
He's taking a lot of thinking time over what to do.

They're reached the mid-session interval on the other table, where Hossein Vafaei is refusing to roll over for Wu Yize.
He takes the fourth frame of the night, helped by a visit of 50.
That pair are level at 2-2 this evening, but Yize still holds a more than handy 12-8 advantage.
Vafaei needs to win the remaining five frames to progress.

Something was left, though. An incredibly tricky red with a horrible angle to the right middle, but Higgins converts.
He holds for the blue, and can now make use of that handy split on the pack played by Robertson.
Two reds and blacks follow, comfortably taken.

He does go into the pack early though, off the black, and is not left with a reat deal. The reds have split nicely, but his only option is another long red into the green pocket.

Robertson starts from 20 with an absolutely outrageous pot.
Left in what looks like trouble with the cue ball to the left of the black, he sees route to safety in hammering a red into the green pocket, while keeping the white in position for the blue.
That was a fantastic starter, and there are enough loose reds for him to put up a score of note before he has to think of going into the pack, too.

This has been a really well calculated break from Robertson. He's cleverly freed up the big-scoring colours, while also bringing more reds into play with each pot.
A black tackes him to a break of 65. One more red will mean Higgins requires snookers.
It's not a straightforward one to the right corner, as he needs a significant amount of right hand side on the cue ball to get the angle. But in it goes.
A black follows, and then a red that misses by some margin, but Higgins stays in his chair

Back to Neil Robertson, who is taking full advantage of that aggressive split a few shots ago, as he is now able to the pink and black back on their own spots.
That makes heavy scoring much easier for him, instead of having to go up for the blue, and his positional play has been strong - not that of somebody who has been kept off the table for as much time as he has this evening.

On the other table, things have continued at apace, mainly thanks to the brilliance of Yize, who has just cleaned up with a majestic 135.
He's now just one frame from his first Crucible semi-final.

And Robertson is bigging to take advantage of that Higgins mistake. A red to the left corner starts him off, before using the rest to pot the pink, which was on the right hand side of the table, but is now on the black spot.
Another red is tidied away, with a handy kiss on the blue giving him position on a colour too.
A couple of shots later, he goes into the pack off the blue, opening things up nicely and getting the pink shot available. Aggressive but excellent snooker.

A handful of shots later and Higgins is amongst the balls after a failed Robertson safety in which he caught the red too thick and left the cue ball some way short of the baulk cushion.
The red that the Aussie did hit is put over the left corner, and is swiftly tidied up.
The blue follows, but Higgins' positional play on this occasion is not great. He leaves a nasty red to the right corner, which catches the jaw and bounces to safety.
Robertson is left with his first chance of the evening.

Higgins is put in a spot of bother at the start of frame three when a Robertson safety sees the white kiss the brown and land right up behind the green.
The Wizard's escape is to come off three cushions and try and land on a loose red on the top cushion.
He misses, narrowly, with attempt one, and then fortuitously hits a different red on his second!

There's some nice positional play too, including a kiss to develop a couple of reds on the top cushion.

Robertson puts Higgins back in, and he escapes on the second attempt, coming off two cushions to push a red into the right side cushion.
A few safety shots later, the Thunder tries a long red to the left corner, but it misses, and a double kiss on the cue ball leaves Higgins right in amongst the balls.
Red, blue, red takes him to the snookers required stage.

Higgins' positional play has not been perfect in this visit. Another shot off the black sees the cue ball go some way out of position.
He has to take a red to the green pocket, followed by a good blue.
However, he hits a snag off that. The white lands almost bang on the blue spot, but there's still room for the blue to be spotted.
With the white ball behind it, Higgins is snookered on the six remaining reds. The break ends at 63 with a foul off the side cushion.

Potting the pink means it goes back on its spot, but with two reds directly above it, that ball is no longer pottable.
The black is free, though, and Higgins is now beginning to use that for some heavy scoring.
42 points accrued in this break so far, but he runs a little too far off the black to make things a little bit awkward.
The cue ball has landed in the middle of a cluster of four reds near the left cushion. They're hampering him in his cueing, and he needs the extended rest.
No problem, though. Right in the heart of the pocket, and on he strides.

First blood goes to John Higgins. A Robertson safety goes wrong as the cue ball catches a red, leaving the Scot in a nice position.
He takes advantage by sinking a red, followed by the green, off which he swings the white up the table.
The reds are well spread, and this could be a really big chance for him.
