Reanne Evans books spot at British Open with second win of new snooker season, following victory in Wuhan Open qualifying

Twelve-time women's world champion Reanne Evans continued her impressive start to the new snooker season with a second victory in a row. After qualifying for the Wuhan Open with a 5-4 win over former World Seniors champion David Lilley, Evans eased to a 4-1 success against rookie Lan Yuhao at Leicester's Mattioli Arena. Elsewhere on Saturday, there were wins for Robert Milkins and Anthony McGill.

Reanne Evans followed up her 5-4 win over David Lilley in Wuhan Open qualifying with a 4-1 victory over Lan Yuhao in the first round of the British Open in Leicester.
Breaks of 53 and 88 saw the 12-time women's world champion ease past the 16-year-old WST newcomer Lan as she booked a trip to the finals venue, the Centaur in Cheltenham, for the last-64 stage in September.
With world champion Bai Yulu enjoying a 4-2 win over Artemijs Zizins of Latvia on Friday, it marked a memorable couple of days for the women's game at the elite level.
Elsewhere on the final day of qualifying on Saturday, there was a 4-3 win for Anthony McGill over Dylan Emery as the former Crucible semi-finalist bounced back from a 5-2 loss to Jimmy White in his season opener in Wuhan Open qualifying.
McGill found some notable scoring form with breaks of 59, 60, 52 and a closing 90 earning him his first win of the new campaign.
And former Welsh Open champion Robert Milkins, who has dropped to 49 in the world rankings, completed a 4-2 win from 2-0 down against Fan Zhengyi to secure his trip to Cheltenham.
Scottish Open champion Lei Peifan also advanced, hitting 102 in a 4-0 whitewash win over Mateusz Baranowski.
The main tournament will be staged in Cheltenham from September 22-28, with all matches involving the world's top 16 held over to the finals venue.
Ronnie O'Sullivan is scheduled to face Sanderson Lam in the first round of the British Open, with defending champion Mark Selby up against David Grace, and world No. 1 Judd Trump meeting Aaron Hill.
