Jack Lisowski has withdrawn from the 2025 World Grand Prix ahead of his second round clash with world No. 1 Judd Trump.

After defeating Zhang Anda in the opening round, Lisowski lined up an intriguing encounter against his good friend Trump, which the latter admitted he "would rather avoid" after his opening victory against Gary Wilson.

It has now been confirmed that Liswoski has withdrawn for personal reasons and that Trump will receive a bye.

A statement read: "Jack Lisowski has withdrawn from the ongoing World Grand Prix in Hong Kong for personal reasons.

"Lisowski was due to face Judd Trump on Thursday afternoon, but Trump will now receive a bye. Neil Robertson v David Gilbert will now take place on table one."

Lisowski's withdrawal means he will no longer be able to qualify for the upcoming Players Championship or Tour Championship, with his World Grand Prix campaign crucial for qualification.

He needed to win at least two more matches in Hong Kong, which would have meant overcoming UK Championship winner Trump.

"It won’t be easy," he said before his withdrawal.

"I’ll try my best. My attacking game is good, but my safety is still questionable and that side doesn’t come easily to me, though I did play a good safety shot to get a chance in the last frame.

"Hopefully I can pull it all together."
