With defending champion Coco Gauff having exited early, and top seed Aryna Sabalenka crashing out in the quarter-finals, the quartet are the last women standing following a brutal couple of weeks in their quest for the Suzanne Lenglen Cup.

Andreeva - the highest-ranked player remaining at world No. 8, but also the youngest at 19 - faces a stern test in the form of Kostyuk, who is undefeated on clay this year, amid a 17-match winning run, and downed Iga Swiatek and compatriot Elina Svitolina to make the final four.

Andreeva has played her way into serious form and dismissed Sorana Cirstea with little fuss, including a first-set bagel, to reach the final four. She made the semi-finals at Roland-Garros two years ago, but this represents the strongest opportunity of her young career thus far to claim her first major.

But the same could be said for Kostyuk, who is arguably the most in-form player on the women's tour. She is the first Ukrainian women's semi-finalist at the French Open in the Open Era, and is looking for a third consecutive clay title.

Chwalinska, meanwhile, is hoping to continue her fairytale run in Paris. She could be the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam title since Emma Raducanu's stunning US Open triumph in 2021.

Standing in her path is Shnaider, the No. 25 seed who mastered Wednesday's windy conditions to eliminate Sabalenka from a set and a double break behind.
