Carlos Alcaraz produces another supreme display to oust the 20th seed in straight sets.

The world number two served out to love in one hour and 56 minutes to charge into the ninth Grand Slam semi-final of his career where he will meet either Novak Djokovic or Taylor Fritz.

Since 1978, Carlos Alcaraz (22 years 111 days) is the youngest player to reach Men’s Singles semi-finals on all three surfaces in multiple seasons (2023 and 2025) at Grand Slam events (stat via Opta Ace).

This time Alcaraz presses – and Lehecka’s resistance finally buckles.

The Czech fizzes long to cough up break point and then booms long after outstanding defence from the Spaniard made the 20th seed play an awkward overhead that prolonged the point.

Alcaraz produces a wonderful stun volley to pose a threat at 15-30 but its hands on hips a moment later when he teases a lob just long to allow Jiri to turn the tables.

The Czech doesn’t falter as he belting crosscourt backhand proves too good and helps him out of another tough service game.

Alcaraz continues to be pretty much untroubled on serve as he eases to another game for the loss of one point.

Lehecka is sticking to the task despite being second best for long spells.

The 20th seed lashes an ace down the T to achieve parity from 15-30 and then polishes off a hard-fought hold with a knifed volley to the corner.

Alcaraz has jaws dropping yet again as he slides into a rasping return to somehow angle a velvety, crosscourt flicked winner.

The Spaniard lands a succession of big serves from there and is quickly onto the board with a game to 15.

Third time lucky!

Lehecka has been broken at the start of each set and it looked like history would potentially repeat at 0-30.

However, the Czech came up clutch on serve to reel off four points in a row and bag the scoreboard advantage for the first time.

Alcaraz moves to within a set of the semi-finals as he serves-out to 15 with the minimum of fuss.

Alcaraz turns the screw on the return with a superb forehand pass down the line and Lehecka begins to buckle.

The Czech completely shanks a forehand off a loopy attempt down the line and is dismayed to cough up two break points.

The 20th seed darts to the net to swat away one but double faults on the second and that will surely be the set.

Lehecka puts together a magnificent drop-shot/lob volley combo and works his way to 0-30 when Alcaraz volleys wide.

The Spaniard responds and a sensational stretch volley helps him achieve parity before a pair of clutch serves ensure Alcaraz remains in charge.

Lehecka is forced to play catch-up throughout and stays rock solid in a rally on break point, luring a forehand error into the net to get to deuce.

A super serve and volley routine turns it his way and Carlitos can’t prolong it beyond that.

Lehecka can’t go close enough on the return and Alcaraz pockets another stress-free hold.

Jiri reaches high to pop away an excellent overhead and doesn’t look back as he gets back on the board with a love hold.

Alcaraz remains razor-sharp as he consolidates with a dominant hold to 15.

Once again it’s Alcaraz with an instant break!

The Spaniard makes successful forays to the net to force the break, converting on the first of two opportunities by sneaking to the right net post and teasing a forehand deep that forces the error out of the Czech.

Carlitos wins another engaging all-court point at 0-15 with a backhand pass down the line.

The Spaniard follows with clutch serves to tee up two set points, but Lehecka swoops forward to pick-up a drop shot and glide a wonderful crosscourt winner beyond the world number two’s reach.

Alcaraz then zaps a forehand up the line into the net to allow Jiri to make deuce, but a thumping first serve earns him a third chance.

This time the five-time major winner converts with a scorching forehand down the line to clinch the opener inside 42 minutes.

Lehecka has overcome that wobbly start to lift the first serve percentage and bring that big forehand into play.

Alcaraz can’t do as much damage on the return now and Jiri barks in delight as he poses the serve-out question with a routine game to 15.
