Naomi Osaka tells amusing story about daughter after reaching Wimbledon's fourth round for first time - 'I don't think I should be telling you this!'

It was a very happy Naomi Osaka who departed No.1 Court on Friday, having won through to the fourth round at Wimbledon for the first time - and she left the crowd with a heartwarming tale about her daughter in her post-match interview.

The 28-year-old, who has not previously enjoyed much success at the All England Club, has been in superb form so far on the grass, and defeated Daria Kasatkina 6-1 6-3 in just one hour and five minutes.
Osaka, who wore a Kill Bill-inspired kimono in the first round, made another striking entrance on court with her latest pre-match outfit (shown below), and she was all smiles in her post-match interview after cruising past the dangerous Kasatkina.
The 14th seed took the opportunity to talk about her daughter, Shai, and how they had marked her third birthday, which was on Thursday, in west London.
"I don't think I should be telling you this, but she was kind of bad yesterday!" she began.
"We tried to take her to the park, but then she needed to be in time-out, so we are going to try to take her today.
"It was an awesome birthday. She blew out her candles, and made a wish, so I hope her wish is to behave better. If not, today is a new day for her!"
While all four of the Japanese star's Grand Slam triumphs have come on the hard courts of the Australian Open and US Open, she said that she is beginning to feel much more at home on the grass.
"I definitely felt really good today," she said. "I've played a lot of matches on grass for the past two weeks, so I felt really confident."

Kasatkina, a Wimbledon quarter-finalist in 2018, simply could not match her opponent's ball-striking or intensity in a surprisingly one-sided encounter.
Osaka will next take on either top seed Aryna Sabalenka, or Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko, in the next round, and all eyes will be on whichever match-up it ends up being.
With Osaka having now reached the fourth round at every Grand Slam, she will not be lacking in confidence - even if she comes up against the heavy tournament favourite, Sabalenka.
