Team GB face an uphill task in their pursuit of four-man bobsleigh glory on the final day of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

But they remain in contention, with the team comprising Brad Hall, Lawrence Taylor, Greg Cackett and Leon Greenwood sitting seventh after heats one and two.

The quartet sat third after the first heat but lost time in the second and dropped down the standings - but are only 0.23s off bronze.

Germany will be favourites for gold and could occupy all three spots on the podium as they head into Sunday's final - live on TNT Sports and discovery+ - in position for a 1-2-3.

Team GB missed out on a medal in the four-man event in Beijing four years ago by six tenths of a second, while Germany claimed gold and silver - and Hall's team will hope to add one more piece of hardware to their nation's record-breaking medal tally on the final day of the winter Games.

The German team of Johannes Lochner, Thorsten Margis, Jorn Wenzel and Georg Fleischhauer hold a 0.43-second lead in the gold medal position heading into the final two heats.

Hall - Britain's most successful men's pilot in World Cup history - is looking to lead Britain to a first Olympic medal in the four-man event since Sochi 12 years ago. He finished 12th in the two-man earlier this week.

Team GB stormed to the line in 54.39 seconds in their opening run, a strong display which saw them temporarily placed third.

But they lost significant pace later in the day, which resulted in dropping four spots in the standings, and sit on 1:49:43 heading into Sunday.

There was a delay of approximately 20 minutes during the second heats after the Austrian sled comprising Jakob Mandlbauer, Daniel Bertschler, Sebastian Mitterer and Daiyehan Nichols-Bardi flipped on its side.

Mandlbauer underwent treatment on the track and was stretchered away while his team-mates were able to exit the sled immediately.

Christoph Iglhauser, the Austrian team press attache, told The Athletic: "Jakob is on his way to hospital. He’s not so bad. It’s just a check. Everyone else is fine. No injury, only a check. He’ll be fine."

There were also crashes for France and Trinidad and Tobago.
