Eve Muirhead has predicted Saturday’s final between Team GB and Canada at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics will be "one of the best curling games."
Bruce Mouat and his rink battled through a challenging round-robin stage to reach the semi-finals, where they were able to navigate past round-robin leaders Switzerland.
Now they prepare to embark on their second consecutive Olympic final against Canada at the Cortina Curling Centre on Saturday at 18:05 UK time.
Mouat and his team of Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan Jr. came desperately close to gold four years ago in Beijing but had to settle for silver, losing to Sweden in an extra end.
Muirhead, who steered the women’s team to Olympic glory in the Chinese capital, believes it will be another nail-biter in Italy.

"It is going to be a tough game for them but I think it is going to be one of the best curling games, I think it will be incredible," she said.
"I believe it is probably going to come down to the very last stone of the very last end, probably less than an inch between who is going to win gold and who is going to not.
"I think it is going to be a case of who makes the least mistakes and I don’t think there will be many.

"When the opposition makes a mistake, you have got to make sure to capitalise on it, but I think it will be a right nailbiter - I can’t wait for it because I think it will be great."
Team Mouat were often not at their best in the round-robin and three losses on the bounce to Switzerland, Norway and Canada threatened to see them exit before the knockout stages.
Thankfully for the gathering number of British curling supporters, a resounding 9-2 win over USA, combined with Switzerland beating Italy meant they made it to the semi-finals.

There, they delivered in style against Switzerland, with Mouat putting in one of the shots of the tournament so far to seal another curling medal for Team GB.
Many may have doubted Mouat and his team when they fell to those three defeats but Muirhead never faltered in her unwavering support for them – citing their determined attitude as a key reason.
"The boys have been unbelievable in the semi-final," she added.
"To be honest, during the round-robin stages, I was very confident they were going to make it to that semi-final spot, they are a team that have so much grit and determination.
"[On Thursday] night, honestly the game could have gone either way, it was on a knife-edge most of the time and Bruce makes a fantastic shot that probably won them the game basically."
