Nada Hafez, an Egyptian fencer, revealed on social media that she was seven months pregnant while competing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Hafez caused upset in the Women's Individual Sabre round of 32 where she beat Elizabeth Tartakovsky to advance to the round of 16. After defeating Tartakovsky she took to Instagram to reveal she was seven months' pregnant.

Nada Hafez, an Egyptian fencer, has revealed she was seven months pregnant while competing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Hafez caused an upset in the Women's Individual Sabre round of 32 when she defeated USA's Elizabeth Tartakovsky.
After beating Tartakovsky, the 26-year-old broke down in tears as she advanced to the round of 16.
She later took to Instagram to reveal she was competing at the Olympics while heavily pregnant.
Hafez commented: "What appears to you as two players on the podium, there were actually three. It was me, my competitor and my yet-to-come-to-our-world little baby.
"The rollercoaster of pregnancy is tough on its own, but having to fight to keep the balance of life and sports was nothing short of strenuous, however worth it."
She later exited the competition after being beaten by 10th seed Jeon Ha-young.

Hafez is not the only woman to continue to compete while pregnant. Serena Williams won the Australian Open in 2017 while carrying a child.
Paula Radcliffe, the former world record holder in the marathon, continued to train while she was pregnant too.

This year, former American sprinter Allyson Felix has set up a one-of-a-kind nursery for athlete parents at the Olympics to allow fathers and mothers a chance to compete while also having their young ones nearby.
Felix is a mother of two, and won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Games after giving birth to her first child.
