Manchester City's Phil Foden and Khadija Shaw win PFA Player of the Year awards, Cole Palmer and Grace Clinton win YPOY

Manchester City star Phil Foden has scooped the 2023-24 PFA Player of the Year award while Chelsea's Cole Palmer has been voted the Young Player of the Year. Foden notched 27 goals alongside 12 assists in all competitions in the last campaign, helping Manchester City to a fourth successive Premier League title. The 24-year-old beat Manchester City team-mate Erling Haaland to the award.

Phil Foden's magnificent 2023-24 campaign has received more recognition as the 24-year-old was voted the PFA Player of the Year, beating Manchester City team-mate Erling Haaland to the award.
Others on the shortlist included Arsenal's Martin Odegaard, Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, City's Rodri and Cole Palmer – who himself was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year after a dazzling breakout season for Chelsea.
Foden scored 27 goals in all competitions – 19 in the Premier League – as he helped City to win their record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title alongside the FIFA Club World Cup. They also finished as runners-up in the FA Cup, after falling to rivals Manchester United in the final.
“To win this award is something very special and it is one that I am very proud of and grateful for," Foden said in a statement.
"To be recognised this way by your fellow professionals means everything and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me.

The 24-year-old also scooped the Premier League Player of the Season award for his excellent form last season, as well as the FWA Men's Footballer of the Year.
The Englishman played 53 matches for City across all competitions, and was the champions' main creative outlet with Kevin De Bruyne absent for much of the campaign with injury.
Foden was named in the six-man shortlist for the PFA award, with the final six being dictated by votes from players across the game.

Chelsea's Palmer was named the Young Player of the Year after a ground-breaking debut season for the London club, in which he notched 27 goals – 22 in the league – as well as 15 assists.
Palmer was a key figure in a difficult season for Chelsea, which saw the dismissal of manager Mauricio Pochettino after a last-gasp dash to secure European football with a sixth-placed finish.
The 22-year-old joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023, having made just a handful of appearances for City and failing to score a Premier League goal for Pep Guardiola's side.
But he took to life immediately at Stamford Bridge, staking a regular claim in the side and finishing as runner-up for the Premier League golden boot behind Haaland.
Foden and Palmer both figured for England in a deep run into the Euro 2024 in Germany over the summer, with the latter scoring in the final as Gareth Southgate's side were eventually beaten 2-1 by Spain.
Shaw and Clinton win women's awards
The women's PFA Players' Player of the Year award went to Khadija "Bunny" Shaw, who adds to the WSL Player of the Season and FWA Women's Footballer of the Year awards she won earlier this year.
Shaw scored 21 goals as Manchester City finished second in the Women's Super League table, behind Chelsea on goal difference alone last season.
“I am both happy and proud to have received this award - to be recognised in such a way by my peers is a very special honor," Shaw said in a statement.
“I also want to thank my team-mates and the entire coaching staff because without them this wouldn’t be possible.
“I’d also like to congratulate all my fellow nominees who are such amazing players. To have been voted the Player of the Year means a lot.”
Meanwhile, Grace Clinton was named women's Young Player of the Year after her break-out season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur last season.
Clinton starred in Spurs' midfield last season, scoring four times and assisting four on loan from Manchester United.
