Erling Haaland broke yet another Alan Shearer record on Wednesday evening when he opened the scoring for Manchester City against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Norway international converted a 41st-minute penalty after VAR recommended an overturn for Diego Gomez's challenge on Jeremy Doku inside the area.
It was Haaland's 20th goal in 21 Premier League appearances this term, taking him to 26 in 27 games in all competitions.
The striker boosted his chances of breaking the record for number of goals in a single season, which he himself holds after netting 36 in 2022/23.
His maiden Premier League campaign saw him steal the joint-record held by Andy Cole and Shearer of 34, with Mohamed Salah previously holding the best tally in a 38-game season (32).
In December, Haaland stole another record from the Newcastle icon, joining the 100-goal club in record time.
The 25-year-old became a Premier League scoring centurion in just 111 matches, 13 games fewer than Shearer managed.
So it would come as no surprise that Haaland would also beat the league's all-time top scorer to 150 goals in all competitions as a Premier League player.
He achieved this in 173 matches, becoming the first player to achieve the feat in less than 200 games.
Shearer had reached 150 goals in 201 appearances in all competitions for Blackburn and Newcastle, with 130 of those coming for the former.
Rounding out the top five are Ruud van Nistelrooy (213), Sergio Aguero (223) and Ian Wright (229) - per Sky Sports.
What is more, with his first-half penalty, Haaland had the honour of scoring the 35,000th Premier League goal, with Chris Wood netting the 30,000th for Burnley in August 2021, as per Opta.
