Nottingham Forest have appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new manager following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo after just three Premier League matches. Postecoglou was without a job after he was let go by Tottenham Hotspur in June. The Australian comes to the City Ground off the back of ending the north London club's 17-year trophy drought, winning the UEFA Europa League.

Nottingham Forest have announced Ange Postecoglou as their new manager following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Forest decided to sack Nuno after just three Premier League matches, as the relationship between the 51-year-old and owner Evangelos Marinakis soured over transfer dealings.
Postecoglou has been out of a job since June, when he was sacked at Tottenham Hotspur due to their poor league performance, despite ending their trophy drought and securing a UEFA Champions League place by winning the UEFA Europa League.
He will now have a chance to win it again, with Forest travelling to Real Betis on September 24 in their first Europa League tie.
Speaking on the appointment of Postecoglou, Marinakis said: "We are bringing a coach to the club who has a proven and consistent record of winning trophies.
"His experience of coaching teams at the highest level, along with his desire to build something special with us at Forest, makes him a fantastic person to help us on our journey and achieve consistently all our ambitions.
"After gaining promotion to the Premier League, then building consistently season after season to secure European football, we now must take the right step to compete with the very best and challenge for trophies.
"Ange has the credentials and the track-record to do this, and we are excited he is joining us on our ambitious journey."
Postecoglou played four times for Australia between 1986 and 1988 and began his managerial career in his home nation, managing former clubs Western Suburbs and South Melbourne, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory, as well as overseeing seven titles with Australia Under-17s and Under-20s.

The 60-year-old took charge of his nation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and steered The Socceroos to their first AFC Asian Cup win a year later.
A move to Japan followed, with Yokohama F. Marinos appointing Postecoglou in December 2017, and in 2019, he ended their 15-year J. League title drought.
Postecoglou made history in 2021 when he became the first Australian to manage a major European club and in two years, Celtic won five major trophies – the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup twice each, and the Scottish Cup.
That success saw him made Spurs manager in June 2023, becoming both the first Australian and Greek Premier League manager in the process.

He made a sensational start in north London and in leading Spurs to the top of the table, he won the Premier League Manager of the Month award in his first three months in the league, between August 2023 and October 2023.
Spurs eventually finished fifth that season, securing a place in the Europa League, after a barrage of injuries saw results become less consistent.
The 2024/25 league season was a disaster, finishing 17th, but Postecoglou ended the 17-year wait for a trophy in north London, winning the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League in the process.
He will be in the dugout for Forest's match against Arsenal on Saturday, which will be live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
