Nottingham Forest hire former Wolves boss Vitor Pereira as fourth manager of season, replacing Sean Dyche

Vitor Pereira has been confirmed as the new manager of Nottingham Forest, who sacked Sean Dyche in midweek. Pereira becomes Forest's fourth manager of the campaign, following Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Dyche. Pereira had previously worked for Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis a little over a decade ago at Olympiacos, where he won the Greek Cup and Greek league title.

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of Vitor Pereira, as their fourth manager of the season.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss has signed an 18-month contract.
Pereira won the Primeira Liga in back-to-back seasons with Porto, before also guiding Olympiacos and Shanghai SIPG to league titles. Al Ahli, Fenerbahce, Corinthians and Flamengo are among his other former clubs in a varied career.
Forest are 17th in the Premier League after their midweek goalless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers, a result which led owner Evangelos Marinakis to sack previous manager, Sean Dyche.
Dyche was appointed as a replacement for Ange Postecoglou in September, who in turn had stepped in after the removal of Nuno Espirito Santo, meaning the City Ground will see at least four permanent managers this season.
Santo now manages West Ham United, who sit one place and three points behind Forest in the league table.
Pereira secured 14 wins in his 38 games while he was heading up Wolves, keeping them up last season, but a poor run of results at the start of the campaign saw him replaced by Rob Edwards, who had only joined Middlesbrough as their coach in the summer.Â

He was sacked by Wolves as they had amassed just two points from a possible 30 after 10 league games.
The Portuguese already has a working relationship with owner Marinakis as he was in charge at another of the Greek shipping magnate’s clubs, Olympiacos.
While there, he won the league title and Greek Cup in the 2014/15 season in a six-month period, before moving to Fenerbahce in Turkey’s Super Lig.

In his first match as Forest boss, Pereira will face former club Fenerbahce in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League play-off to try to get into the tournament's knockout rounds, with the return leg on February 26.
Both matches against Fenerbahce will be shown live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
The first league chance that Pereira will take charge of is when they welcome Liverpool to the City Ground on Sunday, February 22.
Forest have confirmed that Pereira will bring much of his own staff, including Filipe Almeida and Luis Da Silva as his two assistant coaches.
