Arsenal received a major boost to their search for their first Premier League title in 22 years on Sunday as they survived a late VAR check to beat relegation-threatened West Ham 1-0.

The Hammers thought they had equalised in stoppage time when Callum Wilson found the back of the net, but his strike was ruled out for a foul on goalkeeper David Raya in the build-up.
It was a crucial result for Mikel Arteta's side, who had started Sunday just two points clear of Manchester City following their 3-0 win over Brentford on Saturday.
Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush scored as City kept up the chase, but the damage may have already been done by their draw against Everton.
City's title ambitions were rocked by the Toffees last week as Pep Guardiola's side drew 3-3 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
That potentially season-defining result put the title race back in Arsenal's hands.
So, now that the Gunners have the advantage, when could Arteta's side finally get their hands on the Premier League trophy?
The run-in
Arsenal are top of the table on 79 points and have two more games to play, meaning a maximum total of 85 points is achievable.
City have played a game fewer and are five points adrift on 74. With three games to play, they can secure a maximum of 83 points and now have to rely on Arsenal dropping points.
If Arsenal win their two remaining games, they will be champions.
However, if they draw one of them and City win their remaining fixtures, goal difference will come into the equation once again.

As things stand, they have a superior goal difference of +2, so City will have to make that up to claim the title if Arsenal only pick up four points in their remaining Premier League fixtures.
If Arsenal lose one of their remaining two matches that will blow the door wide open for City.
That would mean that Guardiola's side can win the title by winning their last three matches.
The objective is clear for Arsenal - win the last two matches and they will be Premier League champions.

When can the title be won?
Arsenal could be crowned champions before the final day.
The quickest way they can win the league is if City lose or draw against Crystal Palace and The Gunners beat Burnley.
That would create at least a seven point gap, while City would have just six points left to play for.

But it is not over yet.
Should Arsenal lose to Burnley or Crystal Palace, the title will be thrust back into City's reach if they can beat Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
If Arsenal win their next game and City win their next two, then the title race will go to a nervy final day.
One other thing to consider is that Arsenal will have a UEFA Champions League final to prepare for, after beating Atletico Madrid 2-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals.
That final will be played after the end of the Premier League season on May 30, while Man City also have the Emirates FA Cup final against Chelsea - live on TNT Sports and HBO Max on Saturday, May 16 - to think about.
That match will be played before City's final two league games against Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
