Arsenal boost in race to sign Alvarez

German football journalist Christian Falk is reporting that Arsenal’s hopes of bringing former Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez to the Emirates Stadium have been given a big boost.
The German says that Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are out of the race to sign the Argentina striker from Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
Alvarez swapped Manchester for Madrid in the summer of 2024, and the 26-year-old has impressed since, producing seven goals and three assists in 23 La Liga appearances this term.
Bayern Insider's Falk believe that Arsenal will be encouraged by the news that Bayern are not in the running to sign Alvarez.
"The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Argentine striker, and it has been reported that they are willing to offload two players in a potential summer swoop for Alavrez," read his article in Bayern Insider.
"Bayern Munich are out of the running for Alvarez, and the news will come as a big boost for the north London club."

PSG go after Junior Kroupi

UEFA Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Bournemouth’s prodigious French striker Eli Junior Kroupi, according to French website Media Foot.
The 19-year-old has taken to life in the Premier League like a duck to water, scoring eight goals in 20 top-flight appearances since joining The Cherries from Ligue 1 club Lorient in the summer.
His goals have helped Andoni Iraola’s side recover from a summer flash sale of their star names, with Bournemouth currently 11th in the table ahead of a mid-week feast of top-flight action on TNT Sports and discovery+.
The Cherries will go head-to-head with Everton on Tuesday night, and Media Foot thinks PSG will have one eye on Junior Kroupi.
"Among the talent pool that Luis Campos has been monitoring for many months is the promising Bournemouth striker, Eli Kroupi Junior," read the article.

"The prodigal son of the legendary Lorient striker has been a target for PSG since last autumn.
"Having delivered some impressive performances in the Premier League, the 19-year-old French striker has attracted the interest of major European clubs.
"Arsenal, in particular, made contact with his representatives at the time."

Cherries trigger obligation to buy

Junior Kroupi may have been linked with a move away from the Premier League, but it is not all bad news for Bournemouth fans.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Bournemouth have activated an obligation to buy Alex Jimenez, who is currently on loan at the Vitality Stadium from Serie A giants AC Milan.
Jimenez has scored one goal in 21 top-flight appearances since arriving in England in the summer.
Romano says that he will now join Bournemouth on a five-year deal for €19.5 million.
"Bournemouth sign Alex Jimenez on permanent deal from AC Milan, obligation to buy activated as planned," he posted on X, formerly Twitter.
"€19.5m fixed fee, €5.3m add-ons, five year and half deal.
"The fee will be shared between AC Milan and Real Madrid [owning 50% sell-on]."

Leipzig target Reitz

RB Leipzig have set their sights on Borussia Monchengladbach’s Rocco Reitz, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The versatile 23-year-old has impressed for the Bundesliga giants this term, producing two assists in 21 league appearances.
Plettenberg says that Leipzig are keen to agree a deal rather than pay his full release clause, which is apparently as high as €28 million.
"RB Leipzig are working on a verbal agreement with Rocco Reitz," he posted on X.
"Talks are ongoing, with Leipzig offering a contract until 2031 from this summer.
"Borussia M’gladbach have been informed, but there is no agreement between the clubs yet.
"More teams are keen on him.
"Leipzig want to pay less than his €25-28 million release clause.
"Reitz is one of the top RB targets to replace Kampl/Schlager, as excl. revealed in mid-January."
