Fresh from becoming a part-owner of Spanish side Almeria, Cristiano Ronaldo has been encouraged to join the club as a player.

The Spanish side’s head coach, Rubi, is keen to bring him in should he decide to leave Al Nassr.

The Sun writes: "Cristiano Ronaldo has had the door opened to becoming player-owner at Almeria.

"He’s currently on the books at Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr and has only recently returned to the fold after skipping games during a strike.

"[Almeria manager] Rubi said: ‘This is his club, and if he wants to continue playing, whoever the coach is here would welcome him with open arms. I have no doubt about that.’"

Rashford closer to Utd exit

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford held talks with Barcelona over turning his loan move permanent.

The Athletic reports that Barca and Rashford are optimistic over the transfer going through.

The website explains: "Barcelona are making progress towards signing Marcus Rashford on a permanent deal from Manchester United in the summer.

"The Athletic reported in January Barcelona want Rashford, 28, to stay at the club beyond the end of his loan spell.

"Sources with knowledge of discussions, speaking on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships, indicated the England international’s representatives held positive talks with Barcelona sporting director Deco this week, and both parties believe they are well-placed to make the move permanent this  summer.

"The deal is just at the verbal stage and as things stand nothing has been agreed, with various factors including the upcoming Barcelona presidential elections, Barca’s salary limit and how the remainder of the 2025/26 season unfolds complicating the move."

Salah expected to leave this summer

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is set to leave the club in the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Star.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a move away for some time, and Major League Soccer and Saudi Pro League sides are keen to sign him.

The paper states: "Salah, 33, has under 18 months left on his deal at the Reds - after signing a bumper new contract less than a year ago. 

"However, relationships at Liverpool have been strained this season, and he looked likely to leave in January at the start of December.

"Salah is now likely to leave this summer with the MLS and Saudi Pro League his potential options."

Onana wants Utd return

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana wants to win back a starting role at Old Trafford when his Trabzonspor loan ends.

The 29-year-old keeper reportedly wants to unseat Senne Lammens, who continues to impress at United.

The Daily Mail claims: "Onana, 29, joined the Red Devils from Inter Milan in a £44 million deal in July 2023, but inconsistent performances interspersed with a string of calamitous errors forced ex-boss Amorim to search for an alternative in last summer's transfer market.

"United landed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for £18m, shifting Onana to Turkish side Trabzanspor on loan in the process.

"The young Belgian has impressed during his debut campaign at Old Trafford, and his performance in Monday night's 1-0 win at Everton earned him widespread praise - with Daily Mail Sport's Chris Wheeler tipping him to be the club's bedrock for another decade.

"But with Amorim no longer at the club and United enjoying a new lease of life under interim boss Michael Carrick, Onana is seemingly up for the fight with his fellow stopper."
