Man Utd consider Gomes move
Manchester United are looking at Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes, if Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson is not a viable target.
Anderson has long been linked to United but an alternative may be needed in the coming transfer windows.
The Evening Standard states: "Manchester United could turn their attentions to Wolves’ Joao Gomes should they not be able to land Elliot Anderson.
"Ruben Amorim’s side are reportedly in the market for a new midfielder, with the Portuguese keen to reinforce his engine room.
"Academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo is out of favour with the head coach, while Manuel Ugarte’s minutes have also been limited, with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes often the first-choice pairing in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1.
"United have previously been linked with Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, who has cemented himself as a regular first-teamer in the England set-up under Thomas Tuchel."
Chelsea to sign Ecuador teen Ordonez
Deinner Ordonez is the latest South American youngster who is set to join Chelsea, claims The Sun.
The 16-year-old had previously been linked with Liverpool, but he will now link up with The Blues in 2028.
The paper explains: "Chelsea are signing Ecuador wonderkid Deinner Ordonez – in 2028.
"The Blues have beaten off competition from Liverpool and other major European sides to agree a deal with Independiente del Valle for centre-back Ordonez, 16.
"Chelsea have fostered a good relationship with Independiente, the former club of current star Moises Caicedo, and it is paying dividends again.
"In 2023, The Blues announced they would complete the signing of Kendry Paez, then 16, from Independiente in 2025.
"The playmaker duly arrived last summer before being loaned out to sister club Strasbourg."
Brown wanted by Premier League trio
Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are all keen on Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown.
The 22-year-old has impressed in the Bundesliga, and he could cost more than ÂŁ55 million, according to The Mirror.
The paper reports: "Premier League big-hitters Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal could have a battle on their hands in the summer.
"Brown, 22, has established himself on the left of Eintracht Frankfurt's defence and received international recognition as a result. The youngster was part of the Germany Under-21 side which lost to England in the Euros final over the summer and earned his first senior cap against Luxembourg in October.
"Frankfurt are confident of making a significant profit on a player who cost them less than £3 million when he signed from Nurnberg in 2024. A sum of €63.5m [more than £55m] has been floated, with Frankfurt's Markus Krosche arguing the left-back is worth a similar amount to what Chelsea paid for Spain defender Marc Cucurella."
Rodman linked with WSL switch
Trinity Rodman’s current side, Washington Spirit, would like to keep the 23-year-old but she will be a free agent at the end of the season.
That has seen other sides, including in the WSL, look at tempting the player away from the NWSL.
The Athletic writes: "Trinity Rodman’s representation is in negotiation with the National Women’s Soccer League over her future in the league, as interest from teams abroad continues.
"While the Washington Spirit would like to retain Rodman, the talks are currently beyond the club’s control due to existing roster constraints, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. The 23-year-old will be a free agent this off-season.
"Rodman’s agent has spoken directly to commissioner Jessica Berman about deals to keep her Stateside; however, one of the key points of contention is the player’s salary. Under the current salary cap, teams outside of the league can offer far more than the Spirit - or any NWSL team.Â
"Rodman’s team has had talks with at least three teams in the English Women’s Super League, according to sources familiar with the discussions."
