Barcelona are now reportedly willing to pay the £26 million clause they agreed with Manchester United for Marcus Rashford, while Sean Dyche is coming under pressure to keep his job at Nottingham Forest with some concerns at the club. Man Utd ready to sell Rashford
Manchester United are expecting to sell Marcus Rashford in the coming summer transfer window.
The club are reportedly not keen to lower their clause of £26 million agreed with Barcelona, but do not think they will start next season with him in the squad.
The Mirror writes: "Manchester United are still making preparations for Marcus Rashford's departure this summer, as speculation about his future continues.
"The homegrown talent is currently on loan at Barcelona following his exclusion from the squad by former boss Ruben Amorim.
"His switch to Spain came half a year after he sealed a temporary stint with Aston Villa. Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan with the Midlands club after falling out of favour at United, but a deal wasn't made permanent.
"Under the terms of the current arrangement, Barca possess an option to sign him permanently this summer for £26 million. Previous reports had indicated that the Spanish club were reluctant to meet the agreed price and were attempting to negotiate a slightly reduced fee.
"Recent updates suggest that United were unwilling to drop their asking price, whilst Barcelona are now prepared to trigger the clause to complete a permanent transfer."
Dyche under pressure at Forest
Nottingham Forest may get rid of manager Sean Dyche after some disquiet about recent performances.
A recent defeat to Leeds United has led to speculation that he is not the right man for the job.
The Daily Mail explains: "Sean Dyche is facing growing doubts about his long-term future as Nottingham Forest boss amid uncertainty about whether he will be in charge next season even if he keeps them up.
"Forest’s third manager this season, Dyche was appointed in October with Forest two points adrift of safety and has taken 21 points from his 17 games to leave them three points clear of the bottom three.
"Dyche, who signed a contract until June 2027, was also nominated for manager of the month for January after guiding Forest on a four-match unbeaten run. He has been without last season’s top scorer Chris Wood for his whole tenure.
"Yet despite the solid points haul, Daily Mail Sport understands there has been some concern within the hierarchy about performances in certain matches, notably the abject showing at Elland Road last Friday, where Forest were swept aside by Leeds, one of their main rivals for top-flight survival."
Everton want Grealish return
Everton are hoping to sign Jack Grealish on a permanent deal, but not for the £50m option in their agreement with Manchester City.
Instead, reports The i Paper, the club are looking to spend around half that in order to sign the forward.
The paper states: "There is a £50m option to turn the loan into a permanent move that becomes active after the end of the season but that was never intended to set Grealish’s price.
"Instead it was more for accounting purposes, to set Manchester City’s valuation of the player in the summer of 2025.
"While Everton will not trigger that clause there is some enthusiasm for bringing him back at the club next year, either on a permanent basis or through another season-long loan.
"And the noises from City are that they are ready to get around the table at the end of the campaign if Everton want to make it happen.
"Everton’s valuation, The i Paper has been told, is much closer to the £20-25m mark – still a considerable outlay for a player who will turn 31 in September."
Arsenal and Chelsea in battle for Stankovic
Reports in Belgium suggest that 20-year-old Serbian defensive player Aleksandar Stankovic is a target for both Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Sun relays a story that suggests it will cost at least £20 million, given Internazionale have that as a buyback clause after selling him to Club Brugge.
The paper reports: "Arsenal and Chelsea are in the hunt for Club Brugge star Aleksandar Stankovic, according to reports.
"The Premier League big hitters face a battle for his signature with HLN claiming that Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are also keen on the son of a footballing legend.
"His form on loan at Luzern caught the eye of Club Brugge who splashed out to sign him from Serie A table toppers Inter Milan last summer.
"It is claimed in Belgium that as part of the package to take him to Brugge, Inter inserted a buyback clause meaning they are able to land him for around £20 million."
