Napoli will reportedly insert a £74.3 million release clause for striker Rasmus Hojlund when he joins from Manchester United.

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna sees no reason that the chance to buy the player will not be taken up in the summer.

The Daily Mail explains: "The loan has cost Napoli £5.24m with an obligation to buy Hojlund for £38.46m on July 1 if, as expected, Conte’s side qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

"If they do not, there is still an option to buy him and Manna told Italian media this week that it is ‘a formality’, adding: ‘The player considers himself a Napoli player and the same goes for us. This is extremely important.’

"Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis moved quickly to protect his investment, inserting a £74.3m buyout clause in Hojlund’s contract from the summer of 2027, which is already starting to look like a conservative valuation."

Amass considers new move

Manchester United defender Harry Amass may be willing to move on from his time at Sheffield Wednesday in search of a new loan deal.

Championship promotion contenders Stoke City are in the market for a left-back, and may offer a higher level of football.

The Sun writes: "Manchester United left-back Harry Amass is considering a loan move to Championship promotion-chasers Stoke City.

"Amass, 18, has started in all 20 Championship games he has been available for Sheffield Wednesday, having joined The Owls on deadline day in September.

"Wednesday are bottom of the Championship after they were hit by two separate points deductions, whereas Stoke are eighth.

"Although Amass would be assured of regular playing time at Hillsborough, Stoke are in the market for a left-back to boost their chances of ending an eight-year absence from the Premier League."

Fulham may return for Atta

Arthur Atta was reportedly the subject of a bid worth £17.4 million as Fulham looked to sign the French midfielder from Udinese.

However, the 22-year-old will not be on the move imminently, as his current club want a higher price for the player.

The Evening Standard reports: "Fulham have had a €20 million (£17.4m) bid rejected for Udinese midfielder Arthur Atta.

"Udinese have no plans to sell the Frenchman, and it is unclear whether Fulham will make a second bid for the 22-year-old.

"A tall yet technical midfielder, Atta only signed permanently for Udinese in the summer, but is already attracting interest from across Europe.

"Fulham have been active in the first few days of the January window as they seek to add reinforcements after a frustrating summer transfer window."

Nancy replacements lined up

Wilfried Nancy could be facing an early exit from Celtic after defeat to Rangers, and four names are in the frame to replace him.

The Daily Express notes Ange Postecoglou, Ralph Hasenhuttl, Gary O’Neil and Kieran McKenna as potential targets.

The paper states: "If he is given the boot, Celtic would face the prospect of appointing their third permanent manager this season.

"The obvious choice would be Postecoglou, who enjoyed a successful spell in Glasgow before leaving to take charge of Tottenham.

"The former Southampton boss [Hasenhuttl] is also currently out of a job, meaning Celtic would be able to appoint him without paying a penny in compensation.

"Another potential candidate could emerge in the form of O'Neil, who was linked with the Celtic job after Rodgers left earlier this season.

"An ambitious target for The Hoops could be McKenna, although any move for his signature would cost them a pretty penny."
