Eddie Howe to remain at Newcastle United for another season - Paper Round

Howe's future on Tyneside had been uncertain, with Newcastle slipping down to 13th after a poor run of form. However, the 48-year-old is reportedly set to extend his five-year stay at the club.

"Eddie Howe is set to stay at Newcastle for another season," writes The Sun.

"Following a much-needed 3-0 home win against Brighton, The Athletic have reported that the Magpies boss will be in the job at the start of next season.

"Howe, 48, had already expressed his wishes to stay with the North East side.

"The club’s ownership has continued their support for the Premier League manager as they fumbled their way through a turbulent season.

"Talks were held this week in Northumberland with 25-people from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) who are the Toon’s majority owners.

"All parties have agreed that this season has not been up to the standard that they expect.

"But having shook hands on avoiding a repeat of this campaign, Howe has been given another go."

Arsenal have Bournemouth star Eli Junior Kroupi in their sights, as reported by football.london, but it could cost the Premier League leaders a record fee.

Kroupi has scored 11 goals in 29 appearances so far this season and is said to have attracted the interest of several clubs, including the Gunners.

However, the teenager would not come cheap, with Mikel Arteta’s side potentially having to pay over £60 million to secure his services.

”The French under-21s centre-forward, who can also play as a second striker, has enjoyed an excellent season for the Cherries, drawing interest from a host of top clubs, including the Gunners," says the report.

"However, Bournemouth are expected to demand a significant fee and are under no pressure to sell, with Kroupi’s contract running until 2030. Any move could make him one of, if not the most expensive centre-forwards the club has ever signed if they decide to proceed with a move.

"Exceeding the £56million paid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in 2018, or possibly the £65million paid for Kai Havertz in 2023."

Aston Villa have made an enquiry with Galatasaray about former Norwich City forward Gabriel Sara, reports the Birmingham Mail.

Sara has scored five goals and registered four assists so far this season in the Turkish Super Lig.

"According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb Villa have ‘inquired’ about Gabriel Sara," reads the article.

"The report says that happened in ‘recent days’ and that Galatasaray informed Villa of their €30million asking price.

"The Turkish outfit paid €18m for the Brazil international when he moved from Norwich City in 2024.

"The midfielder was signed by the Canaries from Sao Paolo in 2022, made 96 appearances and scored 21 goals with 17 assists in his two years at Carrow Road.

"He signed a five year contract with Galatasaray two seasons ago and earned his first call-up to the national team in March.

"He has 11 goal involvements in 42 matches this season, including one in the Champions League win over Juventus in February."
