Man Utd's midfield targets
Sandro Tonali, Carlos Baleba, Mateus Fernandes, Joao Gomes, Adam Wharton, Bruno Guimaraes and Elliot Anderson are all wanted by Manchester United this summer.
To finance a move for a midfielder, Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee, Altay Bayinder and Andre Onana could be sold.
The Mirror explains: "The club's brains trust, led by owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, director of football Jason Wilcox and chief executive Omar Berrada, are prioritising the signing of a top-class midfielder this summer and are interested in Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, Newcastle duo Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes, Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, Brighton's Carlos Baleba, West Ham United's Mateus Fernandes and Wolverhampton Wanderers' Joao Gomes.
"They are hoping to finance the signing through sales, with the departure of Marcus Rashford to Barcelona for ÂŁ26m and Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli for ÂŁ38m key parts of the jigsaw.
"Meanwhile, suitors are emerging for Joshua Zirkzee and Altay Bayindir, while Andre Onana is also on the transfer list."
Newcastle want ÂŁ100m for Tonali
Newcastle United are looking to get ÂŁ100 million for Sandro Tonali, with several top sides chasing the player.
The midfielder is wanted by Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City, but The Magpies hope to convince him to stay.
The i Paper writes: "Newcastle United want the future of Sandro Tonali and other star men resolved early in the summer as part of their plan to overhaul the club’s ageing squad.
"The Magpies kick off a crucial seven-game period against the backdrop of genuine uncertainty over what the future might look like. Secure Champions League or Europa League football - which feels like more of a long shot after defeat to Sunderland at St James’ Park - and some of the pressure on key figures will ease. Miss out on Europe entirely, and there will be difficult calls to make.
"While the narrative since CEO David Hopkinson’s warts-and-all accounts briefing has been that the door has been opened for Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City to sign Tonali, any deal would have to be done on Newcastle’s terms.
"And a big part of that will be potential buying clubs having to declare interest early and meet Newcastle’s asking price of close to £100m for the Italy midfielder. If that doesn’t happen, Tonali will stay and the club believe the player - who has never expressed a desire to leave - will knuckle down and play his part."
Arsenal willing to sell Lewis-Skelly to Man Utd
Manchester United have received a boost in their chase for Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly.
His current side are prepared to sell him, according to the BBC, and the Manchester Evening News believes he is on the shortlist to replace Luke Shaw.
The paper reports: "Arsenal will reportedly consider interest from Manchester United in defender Myles Lewis-Skelly this summer, provided their asking price is met. United have earmarked Lewis-Skelly as a potential replacement for Luke Shaw at left-back and have been encouraged by Arsenal's position.
"Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a breakthrough season under Mikel Arteta's stewardship last term, but has found opportunities far more difficult to secure in 2025/26. The summer signing of Piero Hincapie created intense competition at left-back, with Riccardo Calafiori also positioned ahead of the 19-year-old in the hierarchy.
"And while Arsenal take pride in their academy products, it appears that Arteta and the Gunners leadership are adopting a pragmatic approach to business. BBC Sport reports that Arsenal are prepared to sell both Lewis-Skelly and fellow youngster Ethan Nwaneri, but demand a combined ÂŁ100 million for the pair."
Wolves set price for Mane
Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Mateus Mane, 18, is a target for Newcastle United and other top Premier League sides.
His current club are hoping to land ÂŁ50 million for him should he leave in the summer, and have little interest in a compromise deal.
The Newcastle Chronicle claims: ”Newcastle United continue to keep tabs on Wolverhampton Wanderers teenage star Mateus Mane - but the rock-bottom Premier League club are in a strong position in terms of his asking price.
"He is believed to be a young star Newcastle like, but the asking price and overall demand for the teenager is already high.
"Mane has 26 appearances and two senior goals to his name this season, but is also being eyed by Man United, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund. Nevertheless, he is the type of investment Newcastle are keen to make, although a fee of over ÂŁ50m would be needed to sign him this summer, according to Wolves insiders."
