Spurs fail in Tonali bid
Tottenham Hotspur are set to face competition from Arsenal and Manchester City after having a bid rejected for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, according to a report.
Their offer of £75 million was reportedly kicked back, and two rival Premier League clubs could now step in.
The Sun explains: "Newcastle have rejected a £75million bid for Sandro Tonali from Tottenham.
"Toon are holding out for a deal worth a whopping £100m for the Italy international, who is open to leaving St James’ Park this summer.
"Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi has identified compatriot Tonali as the marquee signing to spark his revolution in North London.
"The player is interested in coming to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but also has interest from Manchester City and Arsenal."
United and Liverpool to battle for Thuram
Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly set to compete for the signature of Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram.
The Serie A giants are open to offloading the 25-year-old French international for £39 million this summer as they scramble to generate funds before the expiration of the club's financial year.
Thuram, a long-term target for The Reds since his time at Nice, is viewed by both Premier League teams as a critical engine-room addition, according to a report.
The Daily Star reports: "As per Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport, the Reds are keen on bolstering the engine room of their side by signing Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram - but could face stiff competition from their bitter rivals Manchester United.
"Juventus are said to value Thuram at £39m this summer as they look to raise money for the end of the club’s financial year.
"The 25-year-old is no stranger to Liverpool fans, as he's previously been linked with a move to Anfield, back when Jurgen Klopp was manager, during the French star stint at Ligue 1 side Nice."
Brighton launch new bid for Vuskovic
Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly intensified their efforts to capture Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Luka Vuskovic with a fresh package worth £45 million.
The Seagulls are said to have tabled an offer of £42m upfront, alongside £3m in potential add-ons, hoping to convince Spurs to cash in on the 19-year-old Croatian international, who is eager to work under Fabian Hurzeler.
The Mail states: ”Brighton have made an improved offer for Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic worth up to £45 million including add-ons.
"Brighton need to add centre-backs to their squad, and have also opened talks for 27-year-old Austrian Michael Svoboda of Venezia as they look to bolster defensive options.
"They have made two previous bids for Croatia international Vuskovic worth up to £35m, and he is open to linking up with manager Fabian Hurzeler for the chance of regular Premier League football.
"The bid is understood to be £42m plus £3m in add-ons, but is still short of Spurs' valuation."
United to secure deal for 45-goal prodigy
Manchester United are poised to bolster their youth ranks with the signing of Derby County’s sensational teenage striker Blake Henry, according to a report.
The 14-year-old England youth international captured national headlines by plundering 45 goals across various youth ranks last season, prompting United to move swiftly to bring him into the Old Trafford academy set-up.
The Daily Express reports: "Manchester United are reportedly set to sign teenage striker Blake Henry, who turned heads across the country by netting an astonishing 45 goals last season.
"The time has arrived for the youngster, who represents England at youth level, to leave Derby County this summer.
"United are expected to bring the 14-year-old to Old Trafford, where he will join their academy system, according to BBC Sport.
"Henry featured for the Rams in the under-18 Premier League this season, becoming one of the youngest players ever to appear in the competition, just months after celebrating his 14th birthday.
"Derby will be entitled to compensation when Henry completes his transfer to United."
