Bailey sends Sancho message to convince star of Roma move

According to Italy’s Corriere dello Sport, Roma loanee Leon Bailey has messaged Jadon Sancho in a bid to convince the Manchester United winger to sign for Roma.

The publication added that Roma’s sporting director Frederic Massara is in London to push Sancho’s proposed switch to the Serie A side over the line.

As per Corriere dello Sport: "Bailey [is] working to convince Sancho to come to the capital - ‘Come on, bro, let's play together’.

"Leon and Jadon's chat is getting warmer and warmer; the two have been close friends since their Bundesliga days (the former at Leverkusen, the latter at Dortmund). They spend their summer holidays together, and not a day goes by without at least a phone call or WhatsApp message.

"In short, getting together on the pitch, in the locker room, with dinners and relaxing is enticing for Bailey, and obviously his friend would be happy too."

Man United’s difficult Antony negotiation

While the Telegraph have claimed that there is an agreement in principle for Antony to return to Real Betis, Spanish publication Marca have outlined how complicated negotiations have been between the Spanish outfit and United.

As per Marca, United set a €50 million (£43m) price tag for the attacker, and though they have received interest from clubs in Germany and the Saudi Pro League, no offer has come close to that figure.

Moreover, Antony is said to only want to sign for Betis, where he enjoyed a successful loan last term. Negotiations between Betis and United, however, are said to have been "complex".

The Marca report read: "Betis even reserved the number 7 shirt for the Brazilian. However, their intention to bring the Sao Paulo native back on loan was initially rejected by the English club.

"Now, both parties are trying to reach a compromise in intense negotiations, both due to the Old Trafford side's intentions, which are reluctant to allow the player to leave solely on loan, as Betis continue to seek, and due to the player's high salary, which would have to be significantly reduced to fit into the squad.

"[Manuel] Pellegrini wants Antony back, and the player has been hinting all summer, but a deal doesn't seem straightforward. [Betis sporting director Manu] Fajardo insists and pushes the clock... without losing sight of other alternatives."

Jamie Vardy in talks over Serie A move

Transfer guru Gianluca Dimarzio claims Cremonese have made contact with Jamie Vardy. The report adds that the striker is now considering the proposal.

Dimarzio wrote: "Cremonese is dreaming of signing Jamie Vardy, who remains a free agent after finishing his time with Leicester at the end of the 2024/25 season. Initial contact has already been made.

"The striker is considering a possible move to Italy, especially considering that several teams are interested in him."

The report adds: "Initial contacts have been made, and now we're waiting to see if the player will decide to embrace Cremonese's project. The club has big dreams and is trying to bring the star player from Ranieri's legendary Leicester City (and others) to Italy.

Man City seek Donnarumma compromise

French outlet RMC Sport claims Manchester City have sought a compromise with Paris Saint-Germain over the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Italian has reportedly "almost" reached an agreement with City over personal terms. However, Pep Guardiola’s outfit are hoping to pay less than PSG’s €50m asking price.

RMC Sports’ report reads: "Donnarumma has already almost reached an agreement with Manchester City on the terms of his future contract.

"There will be no problems there. But the English club's management must now find common ground with their Parisian counterparts, with whom they have taken the temperature.

"PSG initially demanded €50m to release their 1.96m tall goalkeeper, the key figure behind the historic Champions League triumph.

"But the Parisian leadership is now willing to accept a lower sum. They know the situation is unfavorable to them, with a player being pushed out with only one year left on his contract.

"Under these conditions, they are not in a strong position and will not necessarily be able to get what they want. If the transfer goes through, it is expected to be around €30-35m."
