Liverpool prepare bid for PSG winger Barcola

Liverpool are readying an initial proposal to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, who has emerged as a primary target for the club.
The French champions value Barcola at £145 million, but Liverpool hope to negotiate a reduced fee to secure a deal.
Barcola has indicated a desire to move to Anfield and has turned down a new contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain, with Liverpool having already conducted talks with his representatives.
The Daily Mail reports: ”Liverpool are set to table an opening offer for top target Bradley Barcola.
”The Reds are preparing their first offer for the Paris Saint-Germain winger, who is valued at £145million.
”They do not want to pay the French club’s asking price and hope a deal can be done for a smaller figure.
”Barcola is understood to be keen to join Liverpool after the club held talks with his representatives in the last week.
”The 23-year-old France international has indicated he does not wish to sign a new contract with the European champions and is open to joining Liverpool, who have a long-held interest.
”PSG are considering his sale but he still has two years left on his contract and they believe, based on his age, potential and current market prices, that £145m is a fair price.”

Rashford options explored as United exit looms

Manchester United continue to explore exit routes for Marcus Rashford after Barcelona elected not to make his previous loan spell permanent.
Rashford is scheduled to return to pre-season duties with United while the club works to secure a departure before the transfer deadline.
Premier League sides Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been identified as potential destinations.
The Sun reports: ”The England forward is still on the lookout for a summer move after Barcelona opted not to make his loan permanent.
”As things stand, Rashford will report back to the Red Devils for pre-season training in the coming days.
”But they are still expected to try and offload him before the transfer window slams shut.
”Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been touted as potential landing spots for the 28-year-old.”

Chelsea test Bournemouth resolve with bid for Scott

Chelsea have submitted an initial £64 million proposal to Bournemouth for midfielder Alex Scott, with an offer approaching £70 million expected to seal the move.
The Blues view Scott as a key addition to bolster their central midfield options for manager Xabi Alonso following injuries and squad departures.
The Mirror reports: ”Chelsea have reportedly already tested Bournemouth's resolve with an initial £64m offer for Alex Scott, but increasing that bid towards £70m could be enough to secure the midfielder. He has developed into one of the Premier League's most complete young central midfielders, blending the ability to escape pressure with outstanding progression of the ball.
”With Andrey Santos gone and Romeo Lavia continuing to battle injury problems, Chelsea cannot afford to enter the new season lacking options in the middle of the pitch. Scott's ability to carry possession, control matches and inject energy would provide Alonso with another valuable midfield weapon.”

Bournemouth forward Kroupi set to stay

Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi faces a recovery period of three to four months after undergoing surgery on a foot injury sustained during a pre-season trip to Austria.
The Cherries maintain that Eli Junior Kroupi is not available for transfer this summer, despite interest from Arsenal and Barcelona.
The Athletic reports: ”Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi has undergone surgery on a foot injury and is expected to be out for three to four months.
”The 20-year-old suffered the injury during Bournemouth’s pre-season trip to Austria and returned to England for treatment. He had surgery on Wednesday and will likely not return until around October or November.
”Kroupi’s form had seen him linked with a move away, with Arsenal and Barcelona among the clubs to show interest, but Bournemouth’s stance has been that they are not willing to entertain offers for the Frenchman.
”Bournemouth had already strengthened their forward line this summer with the £21million signing of 22-year-old striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche.
”Kroupi joined Bournemouth from Lorient - the French side are also part of the Black Knight Football multi-club group - in January 2025, remaining there until the end of the season. He has been capped up to under-21 level with the French national team and was part of the side that reached the final of the Under-19 European Championship in 2024.”
