Arsenal sign Greece international Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge - 'It's absolutely amazing'

Premier League champions Arsenal have strengthened their squad with the signing of Club Brugge attacker and Greece international Christos Tzolis, the club announced on Thursday, for a reported £34 million fee.

The 24-year-old forward has spent the last two seasons at Club Brugge, scoring 43 goals and providing 45 assists in 108 appearances across all competitions, and helping the club to the Belgian Pro League title last term.
Tzolis has spoken of his pride at joining a club of the stature of Arsenal.
"I need some time to realise, I think," Tzolis said. "It's absolutely amazing to sign for such a big club, the champions of England. I'm very proud to be part of this team for the next season.
"When my agent was saying maybe it was a possibility, I was already excited. Afterwards, it was getting more serious and now I'm here.
"I had a nice conversation [with Mikel Arteta]. It was around an hour. We talked about everything, about the club, about myself, about his plans, about me of course, about the team. It was only positive things."
Tzolis' signing comes days after Leandro Trossard departed for Besiktas.
Greece international Tzolis spent three years at Norwich City, between 2021 and 2024, after beginning his career in his home country with PAOK; coincidentally, he made his Premier League debut for Norwich at Emirates Stadium against Arsenal.
The left-winger played for Brugge against Arsenal in last season's UEFA Champions League, a game The Gunners comfortably won 3-0 in the group stage.
"Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player who naturally operates on the left but is comfortable across the front line," Arsenal's sporting director Andrea Berta said.
"He's an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability.
"Christos has produced outstanding numbers in terms of goals and assists over the last three seasons, and he’s a player who will raise the technical level of our squad, while bringing positive energy, enthusiasm, and a strong mentality to our team.
"We're confident Christos will make a significant contribution to our club, and we hope our supporters will enjoy watching him play in an Arsenal shirt.
"We look forward to sharing this exciting new chapter together."

Arsenal enjoyed a season to remember in the 2025/26 campaign, winning their first Premier League title in more than two decades.
The Gunners also reached the Champions League final, where they lost on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest.
Arteta and his players will be desperate to go a step further and win a first ever European Cup for the club.
"That's the best part when you play for such a big team," Tzolis said. "Of course, it’s a very competitive team to be a player of, but I think you just have to enjoy it.

"You will need to work hard every training session and then you have to show it on the pitch. I'm really looking forward to it, to see the guys, to meet everybody in the squad and to play all together. It's a great feeling, I'm looking forward to my first game."
Arsenal will kick off their title defence with the opening match of the 2026/27 Premier League season, at home to Coventry City on August 21.
Their first league game in front of the TNT Sports cameras will be at Sunderland on September 12.
