Manchester United have called off their £39 million deal for Ederson reportedly over a failed medical. Meanwhile, Sporting Kansas City are leading the MLS chase for free agent Mohamed Salah as his Saudi Arabia talks stall over high wage demands, and Real Madrid may look to sell Vinicius Junior amid a contract stand-off.

United pull out of Ederson deal after medical
Manchester United's anticipated first summer signing has collapsed at the finish line after the club pulled out of a £35 million plus £4m add-on deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson.
United had reportedly agreed terms with the Serie A club in June and the 27-year-old completed the first phase of his medical at the 2026 FIFA World Cup while away with Brazil.
However, after wanting to further examine before finalising the paperwork, United have dramatically chosen not to proceed.
While Atalanta insist the player is 100% and are ready to welcome him back, United have informed them the move is off.
The Mirror reports: "Ederson's move to Manchester United is reportedly off after he failed to pass a medical.
"A deal for Ederson, 27, has been in place since early June, with United agreeing to pay Atalanta a fixed a fee of £35 million plus £4m in potential add-ons.
"The Brazil international had the first part of his medical at the World Cup last month, but United wanted to take a closer look before signing off on his arrival.
"Ederson also said during the tournament that the transfer was 'practically all sorted'. But on Friday, a bombshell report from Italy emerged stating that United have chosen not to go ahead with the move and informed Atalanta of their decision.
"The Serie A club believe that Ederson is 100% fit and would be ready to welcome him back."
Sporting KC lead MLS chase for Salah
Sporting Kansas City have positioned themselves at the front of the Major League Soccer queue to potentially sign Mohamed Salah, should the forward choose to leave European football this summer.
While the 34-year-old free agent prefers to remain in Europe after leaving Liverpool in June, he is keeping his options open to MLS.
The Athletic states: "Sporting Kansas City has emerged as the top suitor for Mohamed Salah in MLS.
"Any MLS club signing Salah is viewed as a long shot due to the Saudi Pro League’s heavy interest in bringing him to the league - and that’s if Salah opts to depart European football this summer at all.
"Sources indicate Salah prefers to remain in Europe, but, as he mulls his options, he remains open to a move to MLS."
The Egyptian has also been heavily linked to a potential move to Saudi Arabia.
The Sun explains: "Mohamed Salah continues to hold talks over a move to Saudi Arabia, but his financial demands are currently proving to be too high.
"Salah, 34, is now a free agent after leaving the Reds in June following a glittering nine-year stint that saw him win two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and Champions League.
"The star winger has long been linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal and Al Qadsiah posing as the likeliest destinations.
"However, SunSport understands a move to the Pro League has hit a snag due to the Egypt international’s salary demands with club chiefs looking to lower them."
Real Madrid contemplate Vinicius Jr sale
Real Madrid are weighing up the previously unthinkable prospect of selling Vinicius Junior this summer as a contract dispute threatens to boil over at the Bernabeu.
The 25-year-old Brazil winger, who recently returned from a disappointing World Cup campaign, has entered the final 12 months of his contract.
With weeks passing without an extension agreement and growing pessimism inside the club, decision-makers are seriously discussing a blockbuster transfer to avoid losing him for nothing next year.
The Daily Mail reports: "Real Madrid are reportedly considering the sale of Vinicius Jr, with the star Brazil attacker engaged in a contract stand-off at Santiago Bernabeu.
"Vinicius Jr, who has just bowed out of the World Cup following defeat to Norway, is back front and centre of the Real Madrid agenda, with fans concerned about the lack of a new contract.
"The 25-year-old was widely expected to extend his deal but weeks have passed and with no agreement in sight, reports are emerging in Spain that Real Madrid may need to deal with the prospect of selling.
"Vinicius has one year remaining on his current deal and Radio Marca pundit and prominent Real Madrid voice, Ramon Alvarez, claims that with increasing pessimism over tying the Brazilian down to a new deal, the idea of a 'blockbuster transfer' is gaining momentum among those in the corridors of power at Real Madrid."
