Trossard out at Arsenal, Rogers and Barcola in?
Turkish heavyweights Besiktas have placed Arsenal attacker Leandro Trossard on their summer wish-list as they look to make a significant addition to their frontline.
The Belgium international is one of several players monitoring the moves at the Emirates, as manager Mikel Arteta is actively scanning the market for a new world-class left-winger - with Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola known to be admired - which would severely impact Trossard's playing time.
The Sun reports: "Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has emerged as a target for Besiktas.
"The Turkish giants want to bolster their attack this summer and are one of several sides monitoring Trossard’s situation.
"The Gunners are looking at signing an attacker that can play off the left this summer, which would impact Trossard’s minutes.
"Arsenal and Mikel Arteta are big fans of Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, although a deal for him will be hard to do. Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola is another player the Premier League champions have admiration for."
City launch late hijack for Arsenal target
Manchester City have entered the race to sign Leicester City's teenage winger Jeremy Monga, threatening to shatter Arsenal's long-standing transfer plans.
The 16-year-old had been expected to finalise a move to North London, but with The Gunners hesitant to meet Leicester's strict £10 million valuation, City manager Enzo Maresca has stepped in to leverage his personal relationship with the player from his time at the King Power Stadium.
The Mail explains: "Manchester City are threatening to derail Arsenal’s move for Jeremy Monga after stepping up talks for the teenager.
"The 16-year-old Leicester City winger had been set on a move to Arsenal and looked destined to sign.
"However, with Arsenal so far falling short of Leicester’s £10m valuation, City have taken advantage of the hold up to make their own pitch.
"Monga was well-known to City's new boss Enzo Maresca when he was head coach at Leicester and the Italian is ready to welcome the teenager into the club to add competition."
United make breakthrough for young GK
Manchester United are on the verge of completing their first signing of the summer after closing in on a deal for out-of-contract Swansea City goalkeeper Kit Margetson.
Contract talks between the 19-year-old and the Welsh side have broken down, clearing the path for the young shot-stopper to move to Old Trafford as part of a shake-up that will see Altay Bayindir made available and Andre Onana return to Trabzonspor on loan.
The Mirror states: "Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a transfer for Swansea City goalkeeper Kit Margetson, which would be their first new arrival of the summer.
"The 19-year-old is out of contract with the Welsh club. He didn't make a first-team appearance for Swansea during his time at the club.
"He did, however, get some first-team experience in a loan spell with Connah's Quay Nomads last season.
"United are expected to see a few changes to their goalkeeping department in the summer window. Andre Onana is set to move to Turkish side Trabzonspor on loan for the second season in a row after spending last year with the club."
Bournemouth in talks for Rodriguez
Bournemouth are close to finalising a major coup after opening advanced discussions to sign Elche's young forward Alvaro Rodriguez.
The total structural package for the 21-year-old Uruguay youth international will reach €30m (£25.7m), split into a €25m base fee and €5m in add-ons, with Real Madrid set to pocket half of the fee as part of the sell-on agreement established when he departed the Bernabeu.
The Athletic reports: "Bournemouth are in advanced talks to sign Elche forward Alvaro Rodriguez.
"The deal, if completed, will be worth €30m (£25.7m) and the 21-year-old Real Madrid academy graduate is nearing a five-year deal.
"The deal consists of a €25m (£21.4m) fee with €5m (£4,3m) in add-ons and will keep him at the Vitality Stadium until 2031.
"Madrid are set to receive half of the fee (£10.6m) and lose their rights over the Uruguay youth international, who left the Santiago Bernabeu last summer."
