Manchester City plot £85 million bid for Morocco sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi, Manchester United want three new signings - Paper Round

Bouaddi was one of the standout players at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, starting five of the six matches for Morocco and helping guide the nation to the quarter-finals.

The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, but City could make the first move.

Maresca's side have already been busy in the market after completing a deal to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for a British record fee of £116 million.

"Manchester City are intent on signing Lille’s 18-year-old midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi for €100m (£85m)," states the Guardian.

"Bouaddi is attracting a host of suitors following his performances for Morocco at the World Cup, and while the proposed fee is high for a teenager, City view him as a long-term investment.

"Hugo Viana, City’s director of football, is an admirer of Bouaddi’s technical ability and positional sense and there is scant concern regarding the ability of a 6ft 1in player to negotiate the physical challenges of Premier League football. Enzo Maresca’s plan is to integrate Bouaddi into his first-team squad for next season."

Manchester United's summer spending is set to continue, claims The Sun, as the club targets three more targets.

The Red Devils officially completed the signing of Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans and free agent Karl Darlow on Tuesday, with Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos moving to Old Trafford on Monday.

"United also want a third midfielder, a left winger and a forward to enhance their squad depth," writes The Sun.

"Senior club sources have said United could hit 'pause' on incomings after the £35million signing of Tielemans is concluded and reassess their movements.

"Facilitating a transfer for Marcus Rashford will become a pressing matter for United after the World Cup concludes this weekend."

"Rashford, 28, is United’s outgoing priority and all parties are keen to come to an arrangement during his mandatory three-week break after the World Cup.

"United are adamant they will not allow Rashford to leave on a second successive season-long loan.

"The club have already eyed West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville as a suitable replacement for Rashford and any move is expected to be contingent on the sale of Rashford.

"United retain an interest in Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott but are unwilling to meet his £80m valuation."

AC Milan could capitalise on Manchester United's failure to complete the signing of Atalanta midfielder Ederson for a fee of £38m.

Ruben Amorim's side are said to be ready to pounce after the Brazilian's move reportedly collapsed due to issues with a medical.

"AC Milan are ready to swoop in for Ederson after Manchester United's move for the Atalanta midfielder fell through," reads the report.

"Ruben Amorim is ready to seize on the situation after the Brazilian saw an agreement to move to Old Trafford collapse. The 27-year-old was widely expected to join the Premier League giants, but the move failed to materialise late in the day.

"The deal was ultimately canned after the player had undergone a medical. It all means Ederson is in limbo having expected to leave Atalanta, but now one of their Serie A rivals are ready to offer him a route out of Bergamo.

"Calciomercato reports that Amorim wants to reshape the Rossoneri midfield and the ex-Sporting Lisbon boss is keen to change Milan's recruitment strategy, with the club ready to pursue proven Serie A quality.

"The Milan hierarchy has already made contact with Atalanta to explore a move for Ederson, who had been away at the World Cup with Brazil. The San Siro outfit have signalled their intent this summer by securing a move for PSG striker Goncalo Ramos - who has moved for club record transfer fee of around £60million.

"Milan will play United in their final pre-season game in Poland on August 15, which gives Amorim the chance to take on his former side - and he could boast a midfielder whom the Red Devils themselves almost signed."

Chelsea are on the verge of signing France forward Melvine Malard from Manchester United, reports the Guardian.

The deal would see the 26-year-old reunite with her former Lyon manager Sonia Bompastor.

The outlet claims the transfer fee could be as high as approximately £850,000, but adds: "Some sources have suggested the deal will be closer to £750,000".

The report continues: "The discussions are understood to be at the final stage and the move is expected to go through.

"United attempted to agree a new contract with Malard, who has one year remaining on her existing deal, but it became clear that the forward’s desire was to seek a new challenge. United then did not wish to lose a high-value player on a free transfer next summer.

"Sources have indicated that United will reinvest the transfer fee into the team and Marc Skinner’s side will likely be busy in the transfer market, which is open until 3 September.

"Malard is understood to have been a key target for Chelsea and they have tracked the former Lyon player for an extended period."
