The 23-year-old is a priority target for Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool. While Luis Enrique’s side are reportedly currently leading the race to sign RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande, club bosses insist that incoming arrivals will not force them to cash in on Barcola.
The Sun explains: ”Paris Saint-Germain are maintaining their stance that Bradley Barcola is not for sale.
”Barcola, 23, has attracted interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool this summer after another impressive campaign.
”But PSG are standing firm that they do not need to sell the winger, despite their interest in signing Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.
”The Parisians are leading the race to sign highly-rated teenager Diomande, who would join as yet another attacking option for Luis Enrique’s talent-stacked side.
”However, even if the Ivorian does arrive at the Parc des Princes, it would not force PSG to sell Bacola in order to raise funds.”
United pivot to raw talent
Manchester United have decided to drastically alter their summer recruitment policy after being priced out of proven domestic targets.
Old Trafford chiefs had actively pursued midfielder Elliot Anderson before his impending £116 million move to rivals Manchester City, prompting Michael Carrick’s side to look abroad for lower-cost, unproven talent in the mold of their previous £1.5 million deal for Ayden Heaven.
The Mirror states: ”Manchester United are ready to change tact with their summer recruitment given the hugely inflated prices for talent in England.
”The Red Devils are looking to ready their squad for a return to Champions League football and want to build on the momentum they built under Michael Carrick.
”They were among those keen on Elliot Anderson, who is now close to a £116million move to Manchester City.
”The sky high prices have led to those at Old Trafford deciding they may look to go after more raw talent, which may not necessarily be as proven, but can be snapped up for a fraction of the price.
”An example of that bearing fruit is the £1.5m purchase for Ayden Heaven, who they signed from Arsenal in the 2025 January transfer window.”
Spurs win Fernandes race
Tottenham Hotspur have continued their busy start to summer by winning the race to sign West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes after launching a guaranteed £85 million offer, according to multiple reports.
The 21-year-old Portugal international had attracted immense interest from a host of elite sides, including Manchester United, but they backed away after the transfer fee and wage packets exceeded their structural limits, allowing Spurs to wrap up the deal.
The Athletic reports: ”Tottenham Hotspur have won the race for West Ham United for midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
”Spurs have made the highest offer to West Ham - believed to be worth a £85 million (€98m, $112m) guaranteed fee according to sources - and the 21-year-old has decided to join them.
”The Portugal international has attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Manchester United, but is now set to move to north London after West Ham stood firm on their valuation.
”For United, the transfer fee and the player’s salary went higher than they were willing to pay, and they will now shift their focus to other targets.”
Juventus plot summer swoop for Vicario
Serie A heavyweights Juventus have registered an interest in Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
The Italian shot-stopper has been deemed surplus to requirements in North London after new manager Roberto De Zerbi installed Antonin Kinsky as his permanent No.1, with free transfer signing Martin Dubravka taking up the backup spot.
The Daily Mail reports: ”Juventus are showing an interest in Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. Vicario is allowed to leave Spurs this summer after Roberto De Zerbi decided Antonin Kinsky – who recently signed a new five-year deal – would be his long-term No. 1.
”Spurs have already acquired former Newcastle United and Burnley shot-stopper Martin Dubravka on a free transfer to play understudy to Kinsky, leaving Vicario surplus to requirements.
”Meanwhile, World Cup winner and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is admired. Martinez is under contract at Aston Villa until 2029.”
