Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk is a "dream" signing for Serie A giants AC Milan, according to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, which claims the Dutchman is Ruben Amorim's first choice to bolster the team's defence.

The report highlights the fact that Van Dijk's contract at Anfield expires in 2027, and that a big transfer fee would not be necessary.
But the Netherlands international, who turns 35 next week, would need to be "convinced" to make the switch to Milan without the lure of the UEFA Champions League.
The Rossoneri missed out on qualification for the Champions League after finishing fifth in Serie A last season, overtaken by Cesc Fabregas' Como on the final day.
The report states that "dreaming doesn't cost anything", perhaps implying that targeting Van Dijk is optimistic.
If Milan cannot do a deal to sign Van Dijk, they will reportedly look towards Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio, who has previously played under Amorim.
The 24-year-old is said to have a release clause of €60 million, but could be signed for a fee of around €35m.
Klopp 'dream candidate' to replace Nagelsmann as Germany boss
The German Football Association (DFB) has identified Jurgen Klopp as its "dream candidate" to replace Julian Nagelsmann as manager of the national team.
Florian Plettenberg claims Nagelsmann could be dismissed after Germany's dramatic elimination from the World Cup against Paraguay in the last 32.
Klopp, who has been working as Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer since leaving Liverpool in 2024, is reportedly open to taking the job, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Plettenberg reports that Nagelsmann has been "advised to consider stepping down" following the penalty shoot-out loss to Paraguay.
If he chooses not to resign, the DFB's "current plan" is to dismiss the former Bayern Munich coach, who has held the job since 2023.
Germany have drastically underperformed at World Cups since winning the tournament for the fourth time in 2014. They were knocked out in the group stage in 2018 and 2022, and fell at the first knockout hurdle this year.
The DFB is expected to make a decision "soon" on Nagelsmann's future.
Brobbey on Juventus' radar
Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey is an option for Juventus this summer, according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
The 24-year-old impressed at the World Cup for Netherlands, scoring three goals in four games, including a clinical brace in a 5-1 win over Sweden.
Despite only scoring seven goals in his first Premier League season for Sunderland, several clubs are believed to be interested.

Juventus are amongst them, and the Serie A side could move for Brobbey as an alternative to first-choice target Randal Kolo Muani.
The report claims an offer of between €35m and €40m could be enough to secure Brobbey's signature, though it remains to be seen if Sunderland are willing to sell.
The two clubs could compete against each other next season, with both Juventus and Sunderland in the UEFA Europa League.
