Kirsty Muir continued her Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics preparation with a maiden gold medal at the X Games in Aspen.
The British freestyle skier claimed a statement victory in the freeski slopestyle discipline, scoring 93.66 to lay down a marker ahead of the Games in February - live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
She had competition from Canada's Naomi Urness and Switzerland's Mathilde Gremaud, but neither could catch Muir's efforts, who ended with a winning margin of 8.66 points.
"It's an absolute dream come true," said 21-year-old Muir. "This morning I wanted to put that run down and to come out with gold, I'm so excited.
"I really wanted to improve [on the last two runs] but I had a couple of mistakes - but I'm so excited because I've missed X Games so much. To come here and win is insane."
Muir also won the silver medal in the big air competition in what was a significant X Games campaign for the Scottish star.
She came agonisingly close to walking away with two gold medals, but was edged by Gremaud, who pipped Muir's score by 0.66 to claim her fourth X Games big air title.
Muir now has four X Games medals overall, adding her gold and silver to the big air and slopestyle bronze medals she won in 2023 - her last appearance at the event before she suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

She was not the only Briton to land gold in Aspen, as Team GB's Olympic medal hopes Zoe Atkin and Mia Brookes also set the benchmark in their respective events.
Atkin claimed her second X Games freeski title, while Brookes won snowboard slopestyle gold.
Brookes, 19, is set to compete in her first Games, while Muir was the youngest Team GB athlete when she made her Olympic debut at the 2022 Beijing Games aged 17.
