Day 4 action from the World Series of Poker Main Event sees just over 500 players survive

Day 4 of the World Series of Poker has been completed, and just over 500 players have survived the money bubble.

The leader at this present time is Sam Sweilem, as he bagged 3,800,000 chips at the event's halfway point, yet it should be known that everyone in the top 10 of the leaderboards have over 3 million chips. Steven O'Nan, who is in second place, is incredibly close to Sweilem with his 3,600,000 chips, while third-place Artur Martirosian has 3,495,000 and Kyle Mart is in fourth with his 3,480,000.

Four past champions are still vying for a second Main Event gold bracelet, but their current chip counts indicate they have a lot of work to do to achieve that goal: Hossein Ensan leads the group with 2,580,000, while Greg Raymer has 535,000, Ryan Riess has 455,000, and defending champion Michael Mizrachi has 440,000.

Several notable names were eliminated due to the money bubble as we had to bid farewell to 2003 champion and Poker Hall of Famer Chris Moneymaker. Meanwhile, the inaugural online WSOP Main Event champion Stoyan Madanzhiev and Zhaken Seitbekov were eliminated simultaneously but were awarded $10,000 for their efforts. Then 2017 champion Scott Blumstein, 2018 winner John Cynn, and the 2005 champ Christopher Storie all failed to progress past Day 4.

Away from Main Event action, there were plenty of interesting games taking place on the tables of Las Vegas, as Eric Weber won the $600 Ultra Stack No-Limit Hold'em after seven hours of play.

It was a special day for the American as he outlasted a massive field of 8,007 entries to capture his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet and the $400,000 top prize.

While the action from the $1,000 Mystery Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha was supposed to end at the end of Day 2, it will continue tomorrow as 34 players remain. The reason behind this need for a third day of action is because of the huge field that entered the event, as there were 4,764 entrants.

At present, Shawn Stroke is leading the chip count with 15,550,000, while following closely in second is three-time WSOP gold bracelet winner Christopher Vitch with 15,175,000.

Then at the end of play for Day 1B in the $300 Gladiators of Poker, Jolnar Teliani is leading the chip count as 65 progressed from the 2,174 players who bought in to the event for Day 2.

Luis Faria (431,000) is the Day 1B leader in the $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship No-Limit Hold'em, with Augustin Naranja (413,000) and Yuxi Huang (399,500) hot on his heels.

At the end of play for the day in the $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em, Daniel Rezaei is leading a pack that contains 13 gold bracelet winners, including himself, some of whom have done so on multiple occasions.

Out of a total of 131 participants, 51 players are still in the competition, vying for the gold bracelet.

Finally, the first day of action for the $1,500 Pick Your PLO has concluded with only 104 players remaining from the 857 entries, with Emory Peebles leading the chip count with 752,000.
