Lucas Jumalon leads the chip stack going into Day 2 of the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event

Action for the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event restarted yesterday, after a three-week hiatus. The Final Table began playing for the honour of being crowned champion, winning the famous golden bracelet, and an incredible top prize of $10 million.

At the beginning of play on Day 1 of the Final Table, Lucas Jumalon entered with a healthy lead in terms of his chip count, with 194,000,000, more than double the amount of his nearest challenger, Rami Hammoud, who had a chip stack of 79,000,000. Jamie Shaevel entered the day in third with a chip stack of 56,000,000.

Day 1 of the Final Table was a tactically intense affair, testing the endurance of the players as they looked to remain in the fight; however, by the end of play, two of the nine didn’t make it to Day 2.

First to bow out at the Final Table was Evagoras Evagorou, who entered the day on the lowest chip stack, after three hours of play. He left the competition having finished ninth, earning him a prize pot of $1 million. Despite being the first player to leave the 2026 Main Event Final Table, he was the first-ever player from Cyprus to reach this stage.

Mario Boos bowed out in eighth place several hours after Evagorou. Representing France, he battled hard throughout but his pocket eights were out-flopped by the king-nine of Lauri Saaskilahti.

Jumalon still leads the table with a chip stack of 212,000,000, just under double the amount of the next challenger, Han Feng, who has 106,500,000.

Hammoud, who entered the day in second, now sits in fourth with a chip count of 45,500,000, while Saaskilahti is in third with 84,500,000.

Meanwhile, coming into Day 2, Michael Gagliano is in fifth, and Jamie Shaevel is in sixth, with the lowest chip stack coming into tomorrow being Greg Mueller with a total of 29,500,000.
