Latest: Allen 5-3 Wilson
Mark Allen will carry a 5-3 lead into the second session of his last-16 World Championship clash with Kyren Wilson in a match that saw both men struggle for form at the Crucible.
With Wilson battling problems with his cue tip and self-belief, it was former Masters winner Allen who secured a 5-0 lead while battling his own error-strewn display despite producing breaks of 50 and 78.
It looked like it could have been a session whitewash, but Allen began to refuse pots as his opponent scrambled hard to somehow register the final three frames with 75 and 50 keeping Wilson in touch before they resume at 14:30 on Friday afternoon and finish on Saturday at 10:00.
The night concluded with Wilson biting the tip off his cue as he bids to keep alive his hopes of emulating his 2024 title victory.
Meanwhile, 2010 winner Neil Robertson finished with a century in a 10-6 win over Pang Junxu that sees him set up a last-16 meeting with Chris Wakelin.

Allen 5-2 Wilson (6-63)
Another cutback red from Allen doesn't drop. That could be his final shot in this session. One that has been pretty forgettable for both men.
Allen 5-2 Wilson (6-50)
Red to green pocket doesn't drop so Allen can return to the table with the counter punch. But he then jaws a fairly routine red.

Allen 5-2 Wilson (0-50)
Not sure Allen will be pleased with 5-3 overnight. Kyren will be delighted. Was struggling badly, but Mark hasn't put him away. And now it looks like 5-3 incoming. Break reaches 50 as blue is downed.
Allen 5-2 Wilson (0-25)
Kyren has been left off the hook this evening, and is suddenly growing in confidence. The Masters champion has plenty of reds to attack at this visit.
Allen 5-2 Wilson (0-7)
Wilson with a thumping pot on a plant. No half measures there. Threw the whole lot at that. First go at the reds belongs to Kyren.
Allen 5-1 Wilson (16-94)
Well, Kyren slamming home a long red and is going to take out these balls for a second straight frame. That refusal of the pink by Mark was very odd. And it costs him the frame. 44 to finish from Kyren. Back to 5-2.

Allen 5-1 Wilson (16-50)
Allen turning down a pink to left centre after splashing open the reds. That is what you call a percentage shot from the old school. He then takes on a tough pink and misses it. Go figure.
Allen 5-1 Wilson (15-50)
Kyren refusing to sit down here. Not an easy table, but he continues to pot balls. Until he misses a red on 45. Still, a very nice lead. Seven reds left on deck. Mark then misses a tough one along the top cushion before fluking a red.
Result: Robertson 10-6 Pang
A 100 break from the 2010 world champion to finish. He is through to the last 16 to take on Chris Wakelin.

Allen 5-1 Wilson (4-16)
Is the mood music in this match altering? Mark can't unearth a hopeful plant on various reds, and ends up sticking the red over a top pocket. Kyren with deep screw to get the white back up the table. Pink in the open and chance for Kyren to score here.
Allen 5-0 Wilson (0-75)
A battling 75 from Kyren.. He is off the mark in this last-16 match with two frames to come in this sesh. What a result it would be if he could pinch both of them.
Allen 5-0 Wilson (0-33)
Wilson trying to discover some momentum in this match. Up to 34 quite quickly here. Which is better news. Meanwhile, Pang back to 9-6 behind against Robbo in the final match of the first round.

Allen 5-0 Wilson (0-17)
Wilson having to dig himself out of a deep hole here. Some nice pots being drained early in this visit to the table in the sixth frame.
Allen 4-0 Wilson (70-37)
Another red eludes Kyren that you would expect him to get from distance, and Allen clears to the pink. Which means Mark Allen will have an overnight lead. Worrying times for Kyren. Rpbert
Allen 4-0 Wilson (46-37)
Incredible stuff from Allen. Wilson misses a long red, but his opponent then misses red to right middle before again going in off. Kyren was probably fearing the worst, but still in the hunt here. Wilson then misses the final red. Which is the story of the night.
Allen 4-0 Wilson (46-27)
Allen somehow going in off with only two reds left up. But Kyren can't slot red going cushion first. Which isn't good news. But Allen fails to reach the red off top cushion. Reaches the second time.
Allen 4-0 Wilson (28-19)
Mark into the lead in the frame with a thrilling long red. Not easy to get job done at this visit, but would like to build a decent lead here.
Allen 4-0 Wilson (13-19)
Wilson refusing chance of a red to left centre in preference of a safety. Only 19 at that visit. Which is not going to overly disturb his opponent.
Robertson 9-5 Pang
Needing one more frame to secure a last-16 meeting Chris Wakelin.
Allen 4-0 Wilson (9-1)
Allen taking over 90 seconds over a shot before rolling in a red to land on black. First prod at these balls, but then misses a black off the spot. Bad error.
Allen 3-0 Wilson (78-0)
No century, but a 78 break gets the job done every day of the week. And it is a clean sweep of the first four frames for the Northern Irishman.
Allen 3-0 Wilson (51-0)
This is much more like it from Mark Allen. Heads over the 50-mark with a few more to come. Could be 4-0 before they break for the mid-session.
Allen 3-0 Wilson (39-0)
Wonder if he is thinking about the 147 here? Reds all nicely placed. But he opts instead for a pink early in the break.
Allen 3-0 Wilson (8-0)
Mark with a stunning long red. Right in heart of pocket, and he holds for the black too. Big opportunity to compile a few points.
Allen 2-0 Wilson (69-1)
Another frame is entered in the Allen frames for account. He leads 3-0. A break of 50 is more than good enough to get the job done for Mark. Robertson is leading Pang 8-5 on the other main table.

Allen 2-0 Wilson (33-1)
Wilson clearly annoyed with the condition of his tip in this contest. Allen must be sensing the chance to really build a lead here. In frame and match.
Allen 2-0 Wilson (20-1)
But the malady lingers on as another straightforward red is missed. Wilson drains a long red, but then misses the brown. This is error-strewn stuff.
Allen 2-0 Wilson (10-0)
Almost 10 minutes without a pot before Mark rattles in a brilliant long red to the green bag. What a fine effort that is.
Robertson 7-5 Pang
Robbo moving two clear of Pang on the other main showpiece table boosted by a 77 break in the 11th frame.

Allen 2-0 Wilson (1-0)
Both men not even bringing their D game to the party tonight. Just scrapping away out there. Hoping for some inspiration from somewhere.
Allen 1-0 Wilson (64-46)
Fair play to Mark Allen. Not in peak form, but doing enough to get these frames in the bag. Which is the main thing. A 2-0 lead then for the Antrim potter.
Allen 1-0 Wilson (38-46)
Down to the final red with Mark sizing up another big steal in this contest. Early days, but all these frames count towards the 13 required.
Allen 1-0 Wilson (26-46)
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the table, Wilson misses a red to left middle. How has he missed that? Can Allen produce another massive steal?
Allen 1-0 Wilson (18-39)
Well, this is a slow, slow start to this match. Allen with a bad miss on a mid-range red, and Wilson has chance to punish, but will he? No excuses not to crack on here.
Allen 1-0 Wilson (15-0)
This second frame is already turning into a bit of an epic with Allen breaking the deadlock with a lovely long red.

Allen 0-0 Wilson (62-53)
Mark slots in blue from distance, but can't hole the pink. On we go then with pink and black still up, but a poor safety shot by Wilson leaves Mark with pink to left middle. And in goes pink. A 34-minute frame falls to the Northern Irishman.
Allen 0-0 Wilson (51-53)
Very clever snooker played to leave Kyren behind the black near the top cushion. Two misses and suddenly Allen within two points. Gets there on the third occasion.
Allen 0-0 Wilson (32-53)
Well, big moment potentially as Kyren slots a long red, but ends up going in off to right middle after colliding with another red. That is 1000-1 chance. Maybe more. Allen looking to steal.
Allen 0-0 Wilson (17-53)
Down to the final three reds then in this opening frame. Still work to be done by Kyren to get it over the line.
Allen 0-0 Wilson (1-53)
A few early nerves out there as Kyren misses a green off the spot. Didn't expect that to rattle the jaws before Mark misses a red. Plenty of misses on the go. A settling in period is underway.
Allen 0-0 Wilson (1-37)
Mark cans a long red, but then ends up missing black off spot. Bit of an early let-off for Kyren.
Allen 0-0 Wilson (0-36)
Kyren loses the white off slotting a red as white runs towards the blue. No heroics with the blue as he opts to chip the white to safety in baulk.
Allen 0-0 Wilson (0-8)
A sublime long red by Kyren. First chance of the night falls to the 2024 world champion, who is looking to make some progress here.
Allen 0-0 Wilson (0-0)
Eight frames to be contested in this first session. WIlson tries and fails to nudge in a long red. Nothing left. Just safety back to baulk for Allen.
Allen 0-0 Wilson (0-0)
Almost ready then for the conclusion of Day Six at the 50th World Championship. Allen v Wilson could be a corker in the last 16 with Robertson bidding to hold off Pang Junxu in the final first-round match holding a 5-4 lead.
