Paris Saint-Germain suffer Ousmane Dembele injury scare ahead of UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal

Dembele, who scooped the Ballon d'Or last year, was replaced by forward Goncalo Ramos after just 27 minutes by PSG manager Luis Enrique.

It was not clear why the superstar winger was taken off, or whether he had picked up an injury.

Enrique and PSG face a nervous wait over Dembele's fitness ahead of their next match - the Champions League final.

PSG will look to defend their European crown when they face Arsenal in the final in Budapest at the end of May - live on TNT Sports and HBO Max.

The Parisians defeated Bayern Munich in the semi-finals, while Mikel Arteta's Gunners overcame Atletico Madrid to reach their first final in 20 years.

And Dembele has played a crucial role in PSG's campaign, having scored 19 goals and registered 11 assists across all competitions, with seven goals in the Champions League.

Speaking after the match, Enrique told Ligue 1+: ‘He’s fine. I hope it’s nothing serious.’

In his post-match press conference, Enrique added: "I think it’s just fatigue.

"What we’re saying today is just speculation, but I don’t think it’s anything serious, and there are still two weeks left."

Dembele also netted twice in the quarter-finals against Liverpool, and three times across the two semi-final legs against Bayern.

The France international's potential injury occurred in PSG's final Ligue 1 game, with the club having already wrapped up a fifth consecutive domestic title.

Despite leading through Bradley Barcola after 50 minutes, Paris' Alimami Gory scored a second-half brace to condemn PSG to their first defeat in eight matches.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was also involved from the start and played 58 minutes, while Vitinha and Marquinhos also featured.

While PSG have a two-week rest ahead of the Champions League final, Arsenal have two more crucial games to navigate.

They will entertain Burnley on Monday before they make the short trip to Crystal Palace next weekend, as they look to clinch the Premier League title.

The Champions League final between PSG and Arsenal will be played on May 30 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.
