'Tired' Luis Enrique interrupts reporter with unusual start to press conference following Paris Saint-Germain v Bayern Munich epic

It was 12.15am when Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique wandered into the press conference suite at the Parc des Princes after a game for the footballing pantheon - and the Spaniard had a message for the assembled media as he sat down.

Even before proceedings began, Enrique had a hand over his face, cutting an exhausted figure following one of the great UEFA Champions League matches.
Then, when a journalist began asking the first question, he only got as far as two words before Enrique interjected.
"The match started on Tuesday, it's now Wednesday, so short questions please," he said. "You can understand that though, no? We'll see."
And as he started answering the first question, it was clear how much the encounter - a 5-4 epic which his side edged - had taken out of him.
"It was a match that showed the incredible level of the two teams," he said. "I think both teams showed the type of football we love.
"I am so tired yet I haven't even run a kilometre, so I can only imagine how the players must be. The match had everything."

The effects continued to be shown as Enrique responded to his second question.
"I am so tired [that I can barely] talk about next week's match," he said, before adding that he expected a "similar" game in Bavaria next Wednesday, with the mouthwatering clash to be shown live on TNT Sports and HBO Max.
Vincent Kompany had preceded Enrique in the press suite, bounding in to make his first appearance of the night after being suspended from the touchline.

He also looked worn by events having watched the tie from the stands.
"How hard was it for you to be away from the action," he was asked by German journalist Christian Falk.
"A catastrophe," the Belgian responded. "I didn't enjoy this experience. It was possible to be in touch with my team. But this emotion was something else."

Kompany also discussed next week's return leg, and gave something of a cryptic answer when asked how he thinks it will go.
"I think someone said to me yesterday [Monday] in the press conference that Luis Enrique thought that maybe the game [the first leg] would be different, and that one of the teams might hold a bit back.
"And I told you I didn't believe it.
"There was a part of the game that was predictable too. You've got to accept the consequences and the risks, but also what those can bring.
"Either you change everything, or you go further into what you do. There's no middle ground for this type of match. You already know the answer for next week."
