Manchester United 2-1 Crystal Palace - Premier League result as Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko complete Red Devils turnaround

Benjamin Sesko scored the winner as Manchester United completed an impressive comeback to beat 10-man Crystal Palace at Old Trafford - and moved into third place.

Maxence Lacroix headed The Eagles in front from a Brennan Johnson corner after just four minutes, and Oliver Glasner's compact side took their lead into the half-time break.

However, Lacroix's elation turned to humiliation after the break, as the Palace defender not only gave away a penalty for a foul on Matheus Cunha, but he was also sent off.

Referee Chris Kavanagh was advised to look at his pitch-side monitor, and he decided that Lacroix had denied Cunha a clear goalscoring opportunity. Palace were furious. United had a lifeline.

Bruno Fernandes stepped up to convert from the spot in the 57th minute, bringing his tally to seven goals in 25 Premier League games so far this season.

United's skipper then turned provider in the 65th minute, crossing brilliantly for Sesko, who headed clinically past Henderson and into the bottom right-hand corner.

That was a milestone assist for Fernandes, who becomes only the third United player to record 100+ goals and 100+ assists in the Premier League era after Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney.

Goals from Sesko have won United seven points in their last four games. Before today, the Slovenian netted the winner against Fulham, the equaliser against West Ham and the leveller against Everton.

With this precious victory, Michael Carrick makes it four on the bounce at Old Trafford, and sees his side leapfrog Aston Villa in the Premier League.
