Klopp had been highly-touted with a move to the Bernabeu following another trophy-less season for the Spanish giants, but according to Diario AS, both parties may be heading in separate directions.
The Spanish outlet says Klopp holds a long-term ambition of becoming Germany's head coach. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup getting underway in June, a poor run in the summer tournament could spark change in the dug-out.
Diario AS reports: Jurgen Klopp and Real Madrid are once again heading in different directions.
"While the German coach is looking toward a future with the national team, Real Madrid’s decision-makers are exploring other options for their first-team bench. There is little more to it, and even less room for speculation.
"The link between Klopp and Real Madrid is nothing new. It dates back more than a decade, to their UEFA Champions League meetings with a Borussia Dortmund side packed with emerging stars like Robert Lewandowski, Marco Reus, and Mario Gotze.
"Since then, Klopp’s name has regularly surfaced as a potential Madrid coach. This time is no different, except for one key detail: inside Valdebebas, his candidacy has not been seriously considered.
"Klopp, for his part, is focused elsewhere. His long-term goal is clear: to manage the German national team. He has no intention of rushing that process and holds deep respect for current head coach Julian Nagelsmann."

Inter warn off Barcelona over defender
Newly-crowned Serie A champions Inter will reportedly be fielding interest from Barcelona for key defender Alessandro Bastoni this summer, and sporting director Piero Ausilio has warned off the Catalan giants over their proposed move.
Bastoni once again played a large role in Inter's Scudetto success this season, and has a reputation as one of the finest defenders in Europe. He has another two years remaining on his contract, and has been linked with a summer move away from the club.
Speaking to Italian television program QSVS, Ausilio said: "I'll say it again: we want to keep Bastoni.
"We are happy to have him. Inter certainly won't be the ones calling anyone to offer him [for a transfer]. He's a huge asset for Inter and for Italy and we want to hold on to him.
"I will reiterate: No call has come in for him and we certainly won't be making any calls."
Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta, meanwhile, told Radio Rai: "I won't deny there is interest from Barcelona, but it is still very superficial and not concrete.
"As we've always said, a player leaves only if he expresses the desire to go. At the moment, he is our player, he wants to stay and we are happy with him."

A surprise move for Neymar?
Fichajes has reported that Neymar could be in store for a surprise move to Argentine giants Boca Juniors, who are also said to be plotting a move for Paulo Dybala.
Neymar's future at boyhood club Santos is uncertain, with his contract due to expire at the end of the year.
The Brazil icon was recently pictured in Buenos Aires holding Leandro Paredes' Boca jersey, and Fichajes cited a report from Ole which said the club "dreams" of pairing Neymar and Dybala together to conquer the Copa Libertadores.
Fichajes reported: "Boca Juniors' board denies any official negotiations for now, but the player's entourage isn't ruling anything out.
"Boca hopes that the influence of Neymar's personal friends, such as Leandro Paredes or [Ander] Herrera himself, will convince the Brazilian to experience La Bombonera before the 2026 World Cup."
There are doubts over whether Neymar, who missed out on Brazil's international squad for their March friendlies, will appear for his nation at next month's World Cup.
Head coach Carlo Ancelotti has previously stated that the forward needs to prove his fitness to be in with a chance of making the squad.
